Here’s the issue. Cragen sees her as a daughter. Fathers are even more protective of their daughters in certain ways than sons. At the same time, she needs to be treated as “one of the boys.” The Cragen/Benson relationship is a great relationship on the show. She always looked up to him for all the answers until it was her turn to take command.
