GRACE NICHOLS (1950- )*
Born Grace Nichols in Georgetown, Guyana. Educated at University of Guyana before working as a teacher and a journalist. Moved to United Kingdom 1977. Nichols is the recipient of many awards including the Commonwealth Poetry Prize (1983) and the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry (2021).
