I was lucky enough to live here from the age of 12 until my parents retired and moved out about 5 years ago! I’m 42 now…Us 3 children would have the run of the museum growing up as a single door led into one of the halls from our house, we seen the motorbikes everyday of our life..it was a truly magical place to live and a time I’ll never forget…I used to get up most mornings with my dad and open the museum up with him and greet all the workers, My dad died a year ago this month…His spirit will forever be in that place as well as our hearts…R.I.P Dad I love and miss you so much x

When I was a boy I lived in Shepherds Bush in London and I used to bike , pushbike to the Vincent shop on Goldhawk rd. I was only 12/13 years old.

Thanks for sharing these treasures! I've seen lots of brand's of motorcycles in my life, but this collection is loaded with many surprises. Great Craftsmanship on all those machines. All of them are in absolutely pristine condition. I especially enjoyed the BSA section, beautiful bikes. The first time I went to England I wanted to see this but it was a long bus trip and my wife didn't want to go. I figured I could just go the next time I visited. Then it burned to the ground.

If the owner wasn't so darned greedy he may have sold Fred's house by now instead of being tied to it for ten years. So he got the place at a steal of 185,000 a give away price with everything included. That's just madness. There was a recession at the time. Then he turns it into a heritage centre. And complains he couldn't get financial support from council (despite expensive visit costs to site-and wonders why it's not a success) so decides to sell the centre as a ongoing buisness..bearing in mind he done nothing but put up hand written signs next to anythjng not bolted down although that which was bolted down he unbolted and flogged off such as all the fittings made of metal. And anything of historical interest. So it goes on sale for 1.25m and again he wonders why it doesn't sell saying it would be great for a boltons man's shed project..yea bolton men have that money for their headquarter purchase..so after years of no luck he comes up with idea of a spot the ball and win Fred's house. 25 quid a pop.(hoping to hit his target of 50,000 entrants!!!?!!!!!) Which equates to his 1.25m he had initially wanted...it does abysmal so he knocks price down to 10 per entry...a more modest 500,000 (a still huge profit) and so ten years later after giving the winner 7,000 cos of the failed contest (prize may change if target not met must have been in the terms and conditions entrants wouldn't have read!!!) He puts place up for 350.000 and still no buyers til now 2022- 18years on from Fred's untimely death. (He would been 84) and has constantly been open in complaining he had wanted to move to spain before they bought the place (no doubt sensing blood in the water for a easy kill of profit) Iam sure Fred disapproved and being a modest man has cursed the place and the not so humble exploitative buyer who has RAPED every memory for profit that Fred lived. This is the true sad story of freds life. If I'd had 185.000 in 2012 Id loved to have owned the site and opened it running at no profit a heritage centre which admission price would been a gesture. But alas....and so now he no longer charges 15 quid a pop to look around the place (which is value for money for any dibnah fan) and if Ur lucky he still shows selected knockers to the door around and others he shoo away apparently..living in Lincolnshire I'd never be able to visit and so this video gave me that experience..thankfully the creator placed it on FB and CZcams free for us all to enjoy rather than giving it away as a prize in a 2quid dibnah wordseach entry scheme...haha..sad really what became of the place...Freds hard work sits unappreciated by a non fan who bought the place with a eye for Scrooge like financial exploition. Thanks to Fred for jinxing that..did u like that.???!!!!
