You Should Play Hogwarts Legacy in 2024
I replayed through Hogwarts Legacy very recently. Without doubt one of the games that I enjoyed most from 2023 and although a year is next to nothing in terms of game years - it still hasn't lost it's spark in 2024.
Learned alot making this video and lots more to come! Be sure to drop a like and subscribe! Hope you guys enjoy the video!

Valheim has Ruined Survival Games for me
zhlédnutí 400KPřed 5 měsíci
Valheim has truly made its mark on the Survival genre and it has done so without a big budget or a Triple AAA Studio behind it. I love Valheim, even all these years later, the more you play, the better it gets! I really hope you guys enjoy the video and thanks for watching! #valheim #irongatestudio #vikings @IronGate Instagram: masonellistv Twitter/X: MasonEllisShow

    Not gonna lie, when I clicked on this video, I thought you were gonna slag off valheim for not being a "true" survival game. But the video I've just seen is a beautiful summary of why I love the game so much. :)

    The most crazy part for me is that his game cost 20 bucks, no micro transaction, no dlc cost, free huge updates etc. i sometimes wish they would charge me more to have more money for great updates but it looks like they dont even need it.

    I think Valheim is really good, but holy do i hate the stamina draining so fast and i found mistlands so boring that i just stopped playing. Ashlands seems awesome though might pay the game a visit again.

    My favorite moment was when we found a fuling for the first time. It was wandering in a dark forest spot (probably attracted by other dark forest monsters) and since it looked so silly and small, we (my friends and i) were fully confident that we could kill him. We've just got our bronze tier armors a couple of hours ago and we felt invincible... we were wrong... very wrong. I ran towards him with my mighty bronze shield as i was attempting to parry him, instead, got instantly vaporized from a single blow. 10/10 experience. We laughed so hard for probably one hour. My only regret is not being able to record it a the time.

    "skyrim" just because it's vikings doesn't automatically make it skyrim lol You can't be a souls like combat and a skyrim combat, they're completely different things Open world exploration would be true if it was a world like subnautica where it's all hand placed. You don't see people making comparisons between minecraft and skyrim like that

    Im on my fourth playthrough now that ashlands released. Me and my playgroup dont have a lot of time on our hands though and we want to progress together. so we just entered the mountains. In between we have been building bases and exploring. I am so looking forward to the new additions in thw ashlands. Our playgroup has not had many spoilers so far. Its the best experience to stumble across things and find out this way.

    tbh same plus the fact that the game's raids are dependent on how much youve actually progressed is a nice touch. it shows how you can play casually as long as youd like

    Valheim is great and I spent a lot of time just building stuff while listening to podcasts about history. Although, I have to say, the one thing that always annoys me is the terraforming. Sometimes I get so frustrated with it that I stop playing Valheim and go for Minecraft instead.

    My favorite food combo is boar meat, deer meat, and honey, lots of health, lots of stamina. One you get the cauldron you can make queens jam out of raspberries, blueberries, and honey for even more stamina and a small health boost. The meats and queens jam both have the same timer so you can take all three at the same time, each time you bend food. This game is awesome 👌

    I absolutely love valheim, but i always turn on an infinite stamina cheat as i dont really like that mechanic. And other than that, entering a new area with fully upgraded gear from the previous area and getting your ass handed to you immediately in 2 hits

  • @Vaareth
    @Vaareth Před 14 dny

    the only things valheim needs is a real voxel terrain. right it's just a mesh we can stretch while digging and stuff, but there is a max stretch limit and you can't cut a mountain in two for exemple. but by having a voxel terrain, like 7 days to die for exemple, we could dig tunnels through mountain, which would require supports of course, but at least we could dig inside or through tunnels.

  • @heibk-2019
    @heibk-2019 Před 15 dny

    Let me say this first: Valheim is a good game with even greater potential. The building system is one of the best ive seen, the art style is great and i love the Terraria inspired progression system. But this video makes it seem like its some huge masterpiece without even mentioning any issues. The combat feels clunky, the weapon movesets for some weapons are pretty bad. If you fight in a sloped area it becomes exponentially worse(which means the entire Mistland is incredibly annoying to fight in). The enemy movesets are not varied and very basic so most enemies are very easy to dodge, parry or kite(i dont think thats a huge problem with regular enemies but bosses having only like 3 moves is kind of a joke), so the enemy difficulty that is there either comes from them just being damage sponges, or them doing super high damage themselves. Exploration does become pretty boring after youve seen all biomes once, due to the lack of handcrafted places/events in the world. With the exception of finding a cool place to build now and then, there is nothing to find. Lastly, having to build a new base with workbench upgrades and smelters at each new biome or having to ship huge loads of ore across the map feels like the devs just want to waste your time. Skyrims exploration is vastly superior because you can actually find unique handcrafted structures, npc quests and enemy encounters in the world Dark Souls combat is better than Valheims in every way and its not even close. It feels better, there are more weapons, more unique movesets, build diversity, complexer enemy movesets, planned encounters(which isnt really possible in a randomly generated world) and lastly and most importantly better bosses. Terrarias gameplay loop is way more fun in subsequent playthroughs than Valheims because there is a sheer infinite amount of items and weapons that you can use, the masterfully designed underground area that is filled with content to the brim and the way less tedious process of turning ore into equipment makes mining way more fun than in Valheim.

    i loved this game until i hit the snow, it truly showed how bad the valheim progression system is, you only get the gear you need for a zone once you've progressed through it, its like your always one step behind. i enjoy a challenge but its just downright tedious.

    my firs survival game is valheim but i wanted to play new survival games so i looked into popular survival games. conan exiles, enshrouded, ark evolved, sons of the forest and many more they say, oh i tried them all and realized, there is really nothing as good as valheim which gives you the constant heart stopping moments . i remember the first time i ride a raft, my friend asked me to go fetch some of his loots in the middle of the ocean while storm is raging , i feel my heart dropping everytime the waves hit my raft like i hold on the raft for dear life LOL

  • @alenfishman9365
    @alenfishman9365 Před 21 dnem

    I was annoyed with the game because it felt like it just wanted to waste my time. Especially when trying to bring back stuff through the portals... Why limit metals? After spending a buncha time sailing back and forth, I found a work around. But, was still annoying. I was finally over it when I was the game sent a 2 star troll to my Base and I wasn't even in iron stage yet. The troll totally destroyed my whole base and I couldn't do anything about it. I did some research afterwords where they say to build your main base in a place that can't really be raided, and it's a much better time. The raids were just too much, constantly fighting something around my base. But the troll totally taking out my whole base before I could even get iron going put a stop to me playing this game ever again. Shame, I really enjoy these kinda games. Maybe there is something I can do in the settings for my world, maybe in the distant future I'll try it again.

    The only game in a similar vein I enjoy a bit more is V Rising, 9.5 to 10/10 difference if it means anything. I think both respect your time while allowing you to also dump countless hours and have crazy quality and features for price. Both make you feel like you really achieved something whether you play 2 hours or 10. V Rising obviously edges towards pvp but truthfully all my time has been in a solo server so far lol. We need more games like V Rising and Valheim in the genre, because when they are good man... are they damn good. From what you've said in this video I think you would actually really dig V Rising, with friends or not. Both are just awesome games but remind me of each other in progression and care. Also great video. I rarely comment anymore

    Me and my brother started playing around April 6 on Xbox Pass just to give this game a try ( We're still playing and had beaten the Ashland Boss ), we went on Full on blind playing the game, and every step of the way we just kept praising the game over and over, we compare it to So many games we have already Played we are surprise of how little attention this game gets, we kinda made the mistake of playing it on Hard Mode because almost everything OneShots us, but we managed and we conquered every land now with the Ashlands as well we got super excited and quickly updated the game just to get access to it, this game really did Ruin survival games for me and i really mean it, its like THE BEST SURVIVAL GAME, and this game is A lot harder than from software games if you play on harder difficulties so let that be a warning Also this game really shows that it requires more than 2 Players playing the game, and playing with multiple people actually makes the game so much better, i can't imagine playing the game alone, i do it when my brother is sleeping or when he's at work but damn i always wish he'd be available sooner, not just me tho even he wants to play. This game has so many amazing experiences as well and it can really be a Rollercoaster like a real hectic one, either you'd hate the game or love it, i want this game to get more attention and love because it honestly deserves it, even tried posting some in my channel just so i can show it to my other friends who sadly don't know about valheim Also me and my brother changed the settings in he's world because Valheim can be very unforgiving and EXTREMELY TEDIOUS, we had X3 in Loot drops, we had keep held/worn tools/armor and we also disable portal restrictions, HONESTLY MADE THE GAME 10X BETTER, and even with x3 we still struggle with Loots and items, the game is THAT grindy, but we kept the difficulty on hard since that alone would feel wrong if we changed it, this was After "Swamp" btw when we did the change because SILVER can only found on Mountains and that would mean we will need to bring silver materials around the world and need to find so many mountains for it, and to those who would try the game, one thing i will say is Just get passed the Swamp biome, you won't regret it

  • @askadia
    @askadia Před 25 dny

    Valheim is not a survival game. Each biomes have very few enemy types, most of which are reused ones with a slightly different color pattern. Skellies are the most ridiculous: you can find them in every biomes, and instead of adjusting their HP and strength to the equipment the player is supposed to have in that biome, devs didn't. Fauna is non-existent: deers, boars, rabbits, fish, and birds. You can walk for 5 minutes, and the only think you can see is the biome-related, easy-to-kill, annoying enemy that spawns behind you. I'm still playing it only because my nephews want to, through Parsec with my 2 PCs

    valheim player learnability is fantastic in the order they learn mechanics and how it informs them in new experiences. For example the player learns quickly that falling tree logs can do enormous damage if not death so they learn to be careful cutters, and then get relaxed again after they know that......then you discover the black forest and often your very first experience is seeing a huge blue troll around holding a tree trunk that they know from experience can crush them. Its utterly perfect cause and effect and such an electrifyingly scary part of early game valheim.
