This little unit works like a charm. Cool 450 living room fast! I especially like the timer feature, I set it to start just before I get home from work, like it was never off.

That was a couple hours outta my life I am never getting back. You dont say where the leg for the outside support should be....which is pretty important as it needs a certain angle to press against the outter wall properly....then at the wonderful screws you gave...one literally busted in half...this is when I scrapped the whole job...if the screws can snap in half I am def not trusting this unit to be out my second floor window with my kids running around.

Alpine you are very misleading , my box didn't come with window inside block , or silver long screw , better hire better personal .

Just by sheer luck this is the brace my stepson ordered. After watching this video and checking-out the actual hardware the installation is pretty intuitive. Thank you for the pointers. I'd also recommend the top-channel window frame brace for heavy installations.

There are a lot of problems with this video, especially regarding joining the support legs to the connector bar: At 1:46, the video shows the long hex head bolt going through hole #5 of the bracket arm. At 1:54, the long bolt has now moved to hole #9. At 2:48, now the long bolt is back at hole #5. Note that the connector bar is clearly visible. At 2:51, what the hell happened to the connector bar? It has magically disappeared! The support leg has to be attached to BOTH the bracket arm AND the connector bar, but the connector bar is not shown here!!! At 2:58, the connector bar has now magically reappeared! TOO BAD the video doesn't show how you would tighten the nut attaching the support leg to the rest of the bracket. That would require tightening the nut from UNDERNEATH the connector bar. And at 3:01, for the GRAND FINALE, the long bolt has now moved back to hole #9 again !!! - A main flaw in this video is that it suggests attaching the support legs after the rest of the bracket has already been screwed into the window sill and the bracket is hanging out the window. That's crazy, especially if your window is higher than the ground floor. To tighten the bolt that holds the support leg to the connector bar the way they suggest in the video, you would have to hang out the window doing all kinds of contortions and use two ratchet wrenches, one on the nut underneath the connector bar (and you would therefore be working blind) and the other ratchet wrench on the bolt head. - There's a much simpler way to do this: complete the assembly of the entire bracket (the two arms, the connector bar and the two support legs) and only then screw the entire assembly into the window sill. - Also, beware that the three plastic pieces that you need to screw into the window sill may or may not be the correct height for your window. In my case, it was way too low and I had to mount the entire assembly on 2 x 4 blocks to get the correct height. >>>> Hey Alpine, since your written instructions are impossible to follow, the least you could do is put together a coherent installation video!

At 0:08, the bottom section shows the two arms and the connector piece of the bracket. The top part of the frame shows the bracket installed in a window, but there is no connector piece. What's up with that? The video at 0:28 shows the installed bracket more clearly, with no connector bar. So Alpine didn't follow their own instructions on that installation?

Won't this leave a small gap underneath the AC unit?

Vinyl windows, drilled first hole into sill and there's nothing behind it. Went 2-3 inches deep and it's all air underneath the vinyl sill. How to proceed?

Hey the rubber foot keeps slipping when the weight of the ac goes onto the bracket .. any idea how to stop that rubber pad from moving?

These are very good instructions. Many of the videos skip steps; they assume prior understanding of some points.
