Our love for singing has deep roots, dating back centuries when indigenous people would gather to drink wine and sing traditional songs, often accompanied by native instruments like the kudyapi or bamboo flutes.
While Japanese inventor Daisuke Inoue created the first karaoke in 1971, it was Filipino entrepreneur Roberto del Rosario who secured the patent for the Sing Along System in 1975.
Why do we still love it so much today?
1. Itâs an affordable form of entertainment.
2. It brings people together.
3. Itâs inclusive and welcoming even to those who canât carry a tune.
4. Itâs a fun way to celebrate special occasions.
5. It fosters a sense of community and belonging.
6. It allows us to express our emotions and creativity.
7. Itâs the best stress-reliever after a long day.
8. It allows everyone a chance to live their pop star dreams.
9. (In my case, it has been my main source of entertainment while in ACL recovery)
