    Opt out ASAP!it means any person that works in the nhs or for GPs or even councils can view it! I had mine accessed by another GPs surgery without any reason just like they were being nosey! Terrible breach of data! Carrie a medical ID bracelet that can hold all your allergy’s medicines and conditions especially if your suicidal, there is nothing else an emergency service or any other service would need to know in an emergency situation! Abuse of power!

    Retired Pharm.D. here. Class of 1972 UCSF School of Pharmacy. Clinical pharmacy started here in late 60s. Very difficult at first cause the docs didn’t think we knew anything. And what were we doing up on the wards on rounds? We should be in the basement where we traditionally worked making up medicines. At that time, 1968, UCSF Medical School did NOT OFFER ONE COURSE IN PHARMACOLOGY ! It was rated in top five of all medical schools. Wow …what an eye opening experience. The medical students learned about drugs verbally from medical students , interns and residents.

    Accept clinical pharmacist Other pharmacist are just formulator (industry) And dispenser (community and hospital) More concerned for maintaining drug quality. Pharmacist are thought to develop medicine but most specifically they just formulate and quality check only that’s it Developing new drugs is important and necessary

      No, they shouldn't. They actually don't know how to facilitate patient care. It's very apparent considering how different their training is. Most Pharmacists don't even do a formal residency training period following graduation. They rarely work with patients directly.

    • @ZahdShah
      @ZahdShah Před 4 lety

      No. I'm a pharmacist student and we are trained to think very differently to doctors. Doctors must diagnose and prescribe. Pharmacists just follow the treatment plan of a doctor unless they are qualified to independently prescribe which brings their role more closely to that of a doctor.

    • @wassimm1933
      @wassimm1933 Před 4 lety

      @@37VQV Wrong. Pharmacists go through 4 years of Doctoral level training in clinical sciences and pharmacotherapy. They are more than qualified to handle complex cases involving multiple medications in a patient with multiple co-morbidities. Have you ever worked with pharmacists before to claim that they rarely see patients? They are the drug experts. In my practice physicians refer patients to the pharmacist when dealing with complex cases such as elderly patients receiving multiple medications and experiencing falls or other geriatric syndromes to try to identify and remove incriminating drugs. Please do your research before claiming any facts.

    • @rpharms
      @rpharms Před 8 lety

      +baladen The Summary Care Record contains information on prescribed medicines, adverse reactions and known allergies and is drawn from your GP record. It's the GP's responsibility to keep the record up to date.

    • @hiphopsingh
      @hiphopsingh Před 8 lety

      +rpharms and there lies the issue. Alot of GPs are not aware that the SCR needs to be up to date. Their own staff normally update it, and those people are not checked or professional or ratified. GPs have the option of looking at full recent discharge and patient notes. The pharmacist does not. I've raised these issues in the past and had no response from the SCR leaders. Also civil liability is something pharmacists are exposed to with SCR. Have the RPS looked into that for their members?

    • @MR-rp3xr
      @MR-rp3xr Před 10 měsíci

      Why is there an opt out clause because everybody can see your records You only need your primary healthcare record at your doctor's surgery and the SCR can take your privacy from you Each person should know what medication or allergies etc they are on or should have All this electronic system a lot of money to implement cost money which could be spent on other more important issues in The NHS like dentists because there are hardly any

    I thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with friends and colleagues, old & new. I say colleagues....I am a MRPharmS and on career break at moment. Decided this would be a fab interactive way to find out my best route back in and was NOT disappointed. It was so lovely that Pharmacy Students treated me with such respect and NOT as an old has-been. I only hope I can make the grade and continue to contribute to our wonderful profession. I DO have plenty to give still, even with 4-5 years off the register (never intended it to be that long). If colleagues who have recently made it back to practice have any ideas or suggestions they would be warmly welcomed. There appeared to be some real blue-sky thinking, backed up by current technology. Refreshing to hear that EPS is starting to roll out fully. I am amazed it has taken SOOO long for this to happen, as we were piloting it 7-8 years ago in Wolverhampton. In my own area (of Newport, Shropshire) uptake has been fairly slow I think. However it was good to see today at my local Doctors surgery a poster advertising it. Still not sure all in the NHS have time to promote it, and it only works properly on the ground if GPs keep their repeat medication records up-to-date. As usual communication is key. Keep talking..... Really wonderful to see a colleague of mine from my Bristol Hospital days was receiving her fellowship that day. Lets hope that can be me some day.....
