The exhaust pushrod should be aluminum and the intake pushrod is steel for that engine. They are swapped in the engine you are working on.
I dont know? Why would u unbolt the hood cover from the hinge to remove the hood cover??? Comes rite off and unplug the head lite wire?? I dont get it??
This is the way helpful instruction videos should be! Perfect. Thank you.
How long did those trash parts last? 3 months? You HAVE to use Motorcraft coils and plugs in these things. Awful video. Thumbs down.
Great video However to take the hood off you dont have to remove the small bolts all you have to do is just undo the lights wire and lift the hood up and push to the back and it will come right off I have the same mower and remove the hood all the time
HAND HELD NUT DRIVER LIKE A SCREW DRIVER FOR THE 7MM FASTNER SO YOU DON'T ACCIDENTALLY MESS UP THOSE LIL STINKIN FASTNERS WHICH WOULD BE SOOO EASY WITH A RATCHETT
DIE ELECTRIC GREASE IS THE PROPER STUFF TO USE ON THE COIL BOOT'S IT'S CLEAR AND ODER LESS ☝️ NEVER GUM'S UP
thanks alot buddy. I have the same motor on mine and you really helped me out.
You don’t gap Iridium Plugs, Ever!
Here is a suggestion, try holding your phone/camera horizontally so when people watch your video it fills the screen on everyone's computer. Duuuuuuu
I am about to change mine… how tight you put those plugs ?
suppose to be 12 or 15 lbs torque at max
Hey brother, when you purchase the coil, is it #1, #2 #3 specific, or does the same coil work on every plug?
Same coil works on every plug.
@@aaronermis4082 lying bastards,ty Sir.
Thanks for a simple, straightforward way to adjust the valves! My gut told me taking the spark plug out and fishing around with the screwdriver was probably unnecessary and potentially dangerous😳
thanks in comments, could not listen
My God! This vertical filming crap!
taryl says .004 AND .004.
Yes teral said that but it's personal preference and or experience 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧and engine wear.
After that hood removal situation, I'm not sure I should continue watching.
It's got me wondering myself
Nice video, and probably the simplest procedure for setting the valves that I have found. Thanks!
After a day and a half of viewing videos and trying methods for adjusting the valves with no good results I found your video and was successful. Thank you fella
You didn't have to take those 4 bolts off to take the hood off. it lifts right out...
That's what what I said? But you said it a lot shorter that I did@!! 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
if available you might want to blow out the plug home after the coil is out but before the plug comes out. If there is sand or other stuff in the hole and you take the plug out, now it goes down into cylinder
Tell us you've never worked on a Triton engine, without telling us. 😆
Changing the sparkplug on my ford 9th cylinder 1 more to go
Had issues with my 18.5 Briggs in my Ariens 42 inch lawn tractor. Not running right and it also hydro locked from the carb flooding into the cylinder and engine so would not turn over. Well took valve cover off and exhaust valve moves properly but the intake does not move the push rod or valve at all. Is there a lifter like a car engine that could. Have fallen out of its place when I took the rockers off to tighten the rocker studs? Thought I adjusted the valves after I put it back together and didn’t see an issue with the cam not opening the intake.
I had the same issue, mine was a worn lobe on my cam. I bought a cheap Amazon one and it's been running great since I installed it.
Thank u soo much 🎉❤
Why new coils?
heat eventually damages rubber boots. Cracked boots can ground to head through crack and give you misfires. Coils also can be worn out by heat and vibration and firing a few billion times over 50,000 miles
So is it best to not use any gasket sealant on the head or valve cover gasket? Mines been leaking and time to get back to mowing and don’t want it leaking anymore after I adjust the valves today.
Thank you guy for the great video. I’m hoping the valves are out of adjustment and not a broken compression release. Been very disappointed in this Ariel’s 42 with 18.5 hp Briggs not turning over to start half the time with new batteries ect ect. Have to turn the motor over by hand just past the compression stroke to start it if it will any way. I’m going to also put a heavy gage copper battery cables on the battery also. The factory put really small wire which sure is being cheap. If this doesn’t work I guess I will try using a cordless drill and socket to turn it over. Once it runs it runs well plus I run alcohol free gas. Was that .004 on exhaust and .005 on the intake? X
#5 sucks on my truck.the rest my daughter can handle. Not sure why I have to rip crap off 4 my rig
No anti seize on the threads ?
No the spark plugs in the triton motor v8 or v 10 have problems blowing out of the heads I do not suggest using antisize if they back out any could potentially further the problems they have I have had 3 now that have had to be refitted with threads
No do not use antisize the triton motors v8 and v10 has problems with blowing out the spark plugs. using antisize my potentially further this problem. I have had 3 give up on my motor and have had to refitte with heli coils
@@puddmaster16danielsullivan94 lmfao they don’t blow out because of anti seize. They blow out because of a poor head design. Do you ubderstand what anti seize is ? It doesn’t allow this to get loose, it keeps things from corroding and seizing up. If torqued properly the anti seize won’t hurt anything lmao.
Would you take the chance of one of the spark plugs backing out knowing it has problems with the threads
@@puddmaster16danielsullivan94 I used anti seize on every plug I’ve ever put in, including my v10. That was 4 years ago with heavy towing use only and never had one back out. You torque them properly and it’s the proper way to do it.
Did these coils work out for you?
No use oem coils only
A aluminum can is 004.5 It’s what I use for both and I tad of slack in exhaust Simple 😊
I have a question. But first, thank you for this video. I have a 2000 Excursion throwing an occasionally that shows 4 and 7 cylinder. My question is if you have any tips reaching the coils back under the overhang of the windshield?
I got to mine with a lot of patience and extensions with swivel sockets.
Yes you'll have to find a combination of sockets swivels and extensions to meet the requirements you need to get there to do the work
@@puddmaster16danielsullivan94 Thank you! I also had a few magic words for the designer that thought that overhang above the engine was nice.😄
More bother taking off the hood than doing the valves. I just bought my feeler gauge so I’m hoping this fixes the starting problem or else I’ll be looking for the vid for replacing the crankshaft/compression release.
I had to replace my cam because my exhaust lobe was worn all the way down 🥴
I've never heard of a coil gap.
I haven't eather need to check spark plug gaping
For those of us with ADHD that can't sit through a 17-minute video and are here just looking for the lash adjustment numbers. The intake valve is .003 to .005 cold. The lash for the exhaust valve is .005 to .007 cold. So .004 and .006 as noted in this video are good numbers. Now go adjust your valves. For those that need the full tutorial, this is a good video to learn how to make the adjustment. Thanks for posting.
Your welcome sorry for the long winded video some need the step by step process
Or a aluminum coke can or any of them
It’s ok you’re teaching them which is great 👍
Thank you 99 Shadows, the video was driving me f-in nuts when when all I wanted was the numbers
Thx man
Thankyou
Do you know what size the side panel screws by brother gave me his old case but he lost the screws
How are they holding up? I just blew an autolite spark plug. Replaced all coils and spark plugs with motorcraft.
Turns out had alot of problems using thoes coils best I could figure is they are hot spark coils and the voltage from the factory wiring and computer will not fire them correctly bought some super cheep coils from Amazon works just fine
So the Edebrock coils weren't good., what model coil did you use from Amazon? We're they much cheaper than Motocraft ?
Question for you…got a check engine code for ‘ignition coil B’ bad….which coil would that be on the motor??
What is the code number exactly
Should say misfire and a cylender number
Got her figured out. Ignition coil B, is cylinder 2. I was able to print out the schematic that shows cylinder assignments. 1-5 passenger, 6-10 driver side, starting from the front. Thanks for this vid. Helped a ton.
@@irateinc I got the same code so just changed the one you did or should I just change them all????
@@fernandobrown7386 depends on time and budget. I would start with the same one I did, and then work your way down the line.
Them back ones look like sum bitches
Thx for the info. 👌🏾
I got to say I have 2 now and the cables are a mess !! other then that it seems ok.
Hey how did u get the fans to work with ur motherboard. I have a rog dark hero motherboard and would appreciate ur help
I would have to look up your motherboard but if you have a manual for it there should be a fan hedder on the bottom of the motherboard and it can be eather a rgb pin set or a regular fan pin set
If all fan pin sets are taken on the motherboard youll have to get a splitter to add to one already being used
@@puddmaster16danielsullivan94 I found out the issue. My musetex case didn't show a normal fan hub to begin with. I was missing a fan cable to hook up to hub to motherboard
This was very well made, thanks!
Thanks for doing this on film. I appreciate it.
I can't get the back panel off though
I took the screws off and the back panel won’t open
Same did you ever open it?
So how do you open the back panel
Can we exchange contact information so you can help me build my first Pc, i need help and I don’t understand wat a lot of these parts mean except for a couple of the parts
For safety reasons I cannot give any personal info on here but I can make a build video if you would like
On my channel there is a video of this case full finish build
