      Hello! This video & the video to create events for GA4 on my channel are for creating the events in GTM, not GA4. They would then auto-load in GA4 AFTER the event is triggered on the website. It won't just appear in the account until something occurs to fire the event. If the event has been triggered and it still isn't showing in GA4, then you should check your settings to make sure it is set up correctly. If done directly in GA4, you can use the "DebugView" for this.

    Thank you so much for this Video, it helped clarify some things I’m having issues with. I’m having trouble tracking the Pinterest traffic to my site. For instance on Pinterest it shows that I have 420 outbound clicks, however it only shows 110 users on Analytics and 170 sessions. The only thing I could find online was that Analytics may not be tracking the traffic from Pinterest app and only from the Pinterest site. Using your video I added the report on users by platform and users by platform and device category and it show that 100% of the traffic is from web. Please do you have any idea about this? I understand that usually there’s discrepancy between Pinterest analytics and Google but this is a bit to drastic.

      Hello! It seems that others experience the same issue that you are dealing with. 82% of users use the Pinterest app, so the number missing would be significant, such as your discrepancy. It does sound like it is only the mobile traffic that is missing but just to be safe....First, you should make sure the Pinterest tag (code) is on every page of your website. Second, if some of your pin clicks link to somewhere other than your website, it would show in Pinterest but not GA4. Next, make sure you have UTM parameters on all of your links in Pinterest so that data isn't "lost" once in GA4. Without UTM parameters, GA4 doesn't always mark the traffic from the correct source. GA4 will also only track a session if it is over 10 seconds long, triggers an event, or has 2 or more pageviews. Otherwise, it is counted as a bounce which also happens more often on mobile (though not 100% like how you have 0 mobile data showing). I do not have much experience with Pinterest, but from what I found, Pinterest will sometimes send users to an AMP version of your webpage to help it load faster. These pages would not track in GA4. You can try to create redirect links from the AMP pages to your website page URLs. To check if that is the issue, click one of your Pinterest pins and check the URL to see if there is "amp" in it. One last thing - If you are looking under Reports - Users - Audiences and looking at "Users by Platform" that is not what it sounds like. That is showing only "web" because your GA4 is setup for a website and you do not have an app version GA4 as well. If you go under Reports - Acquisition - User Acquisition, add "Session Source" to the columns in the chart and search "Pinterest." You can then add a filter at the top of the page (device category exactly matches - check off mobile) and you can see mobile only traffic. Click it again and change to desktop or tablet to see traffic from those devices. To see different URL data of the outbound clicks in GA4 - If you have enhanced measurement enabled in your data stream for Outbound Clicks, create a custom dimension by going to Admin - Custom Definitions - Create Custom Dimensions. Dimension name = "Link_URL". Scope = Event. Event parameter = "link_url" then click save and wait 24-48 hours. Then check Reports - Engagement- Events - Click and a widget will pop up with your link URL information, so you can at least see how many users came from which URL in case certain pins or links are the issue. Another note, if a user declined cookie tracking then they may not show in your reports in GA4. So far, it doesn't look like anyone has made any progress trying to fix the discrepancy issue between platforms but hopefully these suggestions help somewhat.
