    At 41:13 you say it's ok, if the cage is stuck to the outer housing because the needles are free to rotate. This is not correct, because the cage is then fixed relative to the othe raceway (the one on the casing) and the rollers will rub on it.

    Hello, I'm currently working on a swerve drive project and would greatly appreciate your guidance on calculating the steering motor torque. Could you please share any insights or formulas to accurately determine the torque requirements? Your insight would be usefull.

      It depends on what level of reliability you want in different terrain. An easy to calculate upper bound is: how much torque is required to rotate the entire rover with one pivot, assuming that wheel gets stuck? Calculating the loads that different soil and terrain place on the wheels is quite difficult, sometimes its best to just build something and try it out :)

    i have one question , for overall can network communication in which there might be other modules communicating with each other, which kinda interface you are using like which software for debugging CAN network. I am part of Formula student team ,we wanted to communicate with charger over CAN to configure it.

      Hi Hammad. If I understand your question correctly, all of our CAN commands are sent from our Jetson TX2 which has a native CAN bus interface. There are a variety of CAN libraries on Linux that can help you interface with that, such as SocketCAN. Some useful command line utilities for debugging CAN are "candump", which lets you see all the messages sent on the candump, as well as filtering dmesg using "dmesg | grep CAN0" (for CAN0 interface). All of our devices that receive CAN messages are either dsPIC microcontrollers which have a native CAN controller interface, or use the MCP2515 CAN controller IC so that we can use CAN with an SPI interface (such as with Arduino).
