The movie is a pretty good watch, I was expecting better, but still nice to watch. The biggest mistake they made though was not telling the story of how Dickie took down the Philadelphia Mob. It would of been a better introduction to a trilogy, if they plan on doing one, and would of gave an opportunity to gradually show Tony grow up with more scenes with Dickie. Then in the final movie, the hit on Dickie would of been more impactful. Just hope we get to see Dickie again if they make another one, his story seemed to quick. Much like the movie I guess, cut and dry.

Ok I have only just recently finished watching the entire Sopranos series and the many saints movie for the first time so my perspective lacks the nuance that someone with more exposure to the product would have. Just have to get that out first: Because I was watching in 2022 a series that started in ‘99 my appreciation to how the plot is tied to specific dates is lacking , and this is even more so when it comes to many saints and it being set in 67. Others have mention the problem with both the age of Tony S to the year AND the age of Christopher M compared to Tony I think BOTH are tied to the desire to set this movie during a very well known moment in time (the 67 race riots) AND have Tony S play a role . This leads me to believe that this was originally written to cover a larger time span and was forced to be condensed to fit all of the high spots into a narrower timeline. It feels like it was meant to be a larger project with the first part being about the Demeo family lead by the Multisantis during the race riots, then transferring over to the Soprano brothers with Tony, Tony, and Christopher later on. Honestly? The Saints of Newark feels like it is a movie that Was written by Christopher with the correct dates, but after he sold the story to Hollywood the studio ordered a rewrite to set the story during a more familiar event (the 67 race riots) Let’s face it, if you never saw the TV series the Sopranos, whether you liked this movie or not, you wouldn’t care about the timeline

What a complete let down. Should've left well enough alone.... But i guess David Chase has bills to pay and will settle for product that is so bad it actually dilutes the original product quality. The Sopranos was So good that that is hard to do. But mson actually was that bad.
