I'm happy I got this. Great Fairy Wars is definitely one of my least practiced games, and I heard that this game is significantly more interesting on Lunatic than any of the previous difficulties. See you there eventually, then.
Wow, I haven't bothered with Hard 1CCs in a very good while, huh. SA, UFO and LoLK remain for Hard after this, but I don't believe I'm interested in those runs for the time being.

This Lunatic 1CC is on the easier side, for sure. The early game is pretty annoying and some stages can definitely be said to have things that one might charitably call "stage sections", but you get a lot of resources, a lot of bombs and Marisa A is probably one of the most powerful shot types in the history of the series as far as firepower goes.

Uwooh. Honestly, my least favourite Extra Stage so far, that's a pretty garbo stage section. Having to wade through fiddly spam with PC98's "punting a hockey puck through the floor" physics is no fun. At all. Also performance wise the game chokes super hard on the spam sections in most emulators it seems, so it's just overdone. At least the soundtrack of the stage is an absolute jam to compensa...

Cool 80 minute 1CC bro. This run had some really stinky moments but overall I'm satisfied with my performance, particularly during Retsu. I might come back to Expert 1CC eventually.

Ideas come cheap, but people to actually execute them do not. That's basically how I feel about this game. While in concept this is super creative and fun, the actual execution is about what you'd expect knowing that this game was a college project. You know exactly what that means.

This game is extremely underdeveoped strats wise compared to nearly all others, so, probably. I heard some people were working on setups for the more problematic parts for her.

just finished this myself earlier today. i very much agree with the infuriating aspect
All in all I did have a lot of fun doing the Lunatic 1CC with all characters, but doing it with the particularly dysfunctional ones (like Sakuya) was at points very frustrating.
Boss music begins and 3 seconds later she’s down.

And I thought Time Crisis 4 was campy; this game shows 0 integrity with it's nonsensical plot, poor localization, just god-awful script for every character, and that anticlimactic ending where they just swim to an island? Did the staff just use ChatGPT to cut corners on production? I do appreciate FamilyTeamGaming for at least clearing this game, but this franchise has taken a nosedive into mediocrity as one of the worst railshooter games ever constructed.
Worst EVER? No way. This genre has produced some slop, trust me. I think of Time Crisis 5 more like a disappointing sequel in an established series. For all the weirdness of the plot, this game's real problem is the gameplay. The cutscene to gameplay ratio is absurd, any high-level play of this game is going to make it about as long as the first Time Crisis, which means over 2/3 of the runtime is just loading screens and FMVs. And the actual gameplay itself is nothing to write home about whatsoever, either, especially due to how lacking the level design overall is.

Surpised that you can even do that with Marisa due her hitbox
Marisa and Reimu have the same hitbox size in EoSD at 5x5 pixels. They only had a difference in hitbox size from PCB to LoLK. Minus a few infamous exceptions in EoSD specifically, old school Touhou games generally have much smaller hitbox sizes than the modern games too.

Funny how this issue is unique to this one game out of all the G-Con 45/GunCon games in the PS1 catalogue.

I would appreciate it if Time Crisis games came up with the following themes like: - Wild West (inspired by Tombstone, Magnificent Seven), - 1920-50 Gangster Theme (The Untouchable, Dick Tracy, City Heat) - 1920-30 Shanghai Gangster (The Bund) - Spy Theme (James Bond, The Man From UNCLE) - Buddy Cop theme (Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys, Miami Vice) - 1980-90s Hong Kong Heroic Bloodshed (John Woo movies like A Better Tomorrow trilogy, The Killer) - Girls With Guns (Cynthia Rothrock, Michelle Yeoh, Moon Lee) - Mexican theme (Desperado, Narco) Featuring all characters from the Time Crisis series in these scenarios.
