Regardless of debate preparation, there has to be a light on upstairs in the brain of the person giving the response. It's the equivalent of asking a 4 year old to have participated, although I believe the 4 year old might have fared better. This president is no longer able to cognitively string together even a coherent sentence. Now we have somewhere between 7 million and 17 million illegal, unvetted aliens. Biden wants money to process these people into the country faster. The American People want the border closed and these invaders sent home. That's what this election is going to be about!!
You are correct (I believe) about Trump's comment but that is not the real reason the bill failed. The proposed bill would have allowed 2,500 illegals per day before any action by the President would take place. 2,500 per day, 25,000 over 10 days. 75,000 per month. Even then, the president's action was not mandatory. The President had discretion and no one believes he really wants a closed border.

Biden should have been prepared by his people, is exactly why he shouldn't be in office.
What went wrong, is as long as Biden has been in office, he's been in a fog, and only the ignorant would not know it. As if suddenly he has a cognizance problem, is outrageous. And the border was secure when Biden came into office. The invasion is totally on Obama/Biden, since someone has been Biden policy other than Biden.
The reason that Bill never passed was that it still allowed up to 2499 people per day to enter into the country before the border would be closed. That is over 900,000 people per year. Not acceptable.

Well that was ambiguous. Are you saying that it is a shame that the bipartisan bill didn't pass, which had provisions to automatically close the border when a certain number was reached? Or are you criticizing Biden's stop gap policy after Trump killed this solution to the border crises?

A bill that would have stopped the border crisis dead in it's tracks. And he did it simply to prevent the perception that this would be a "win" for Biden during an election year. Trump has NO love for this nation, only his own self-interest.
