Don’t mean to girl splain to you but just a few notes of things you probably already know. He said the line about “my boyfriend told me…” partially because this was released on Valentine’s Day. Lots of date nights. Part of the heavy reliance on katnanas was because it was cheaper than guns. Part of the budget thing. That is why he left his huge bag of guns in the taxi. The reason people want you to watch Logan first is that there is a big spoiler for it in Deadpool 2. It depends on whether you care about that spoiler or not. Personally I wouldn’t have cared. I would've preferred this movie if A: they modernised the script so that you don't have gangsters speaking like Shakespeare and calling their guns swords (because that is the definition of unrealistic) B: set the movie in the 1500s, like the actual play, so that you can still have that dialect

I agree with all your points. In a dark empty loud ass theatre, i was properly on the edge of my seat and felt like the movie was exactly what it was...cool creature designs and each of them had effective set pieces, i jumped hella, the deaths were cool and i just really appreciated the sound design, cinematography and vibe of it. Im usually fairly critical of horror bc theyve just been falling flat to me but this one had me cheesing the whole way through

Absolutely adore this movie. The concept was nice, the effects were fun. Definitely not a masterpiece, but it is the definition of a simple/traditional horror movie (traditional horror formula). 🤣
