robins have a mating language, using 1 2 and 3 musical notes for each word. This language has never held more words, and it's possibly older than humanity. Each robin has a name, and they promise to mate, and at some time later, the female chooses her next mate. I learned their language by immersion during the covid shutdown, living beside my empty university campus *FULL* of robins and other wildlife. Of course I searched for professors at my university that might be interested in my discovery... but they weren't, since I didn't learn the language by the scientific method of observation and recording. Just FYI the high pitched keening sound is a robin calling it's latest mate for aid... not in fear, just for aid.

Talking about fire on the Prairie being a bad thing is automatically a red flag that this is not exactly a very accurate project and then why did I choose cows over bizon...... that's a good damn question cuz they sure the hell don't have anything to do with the nature of that farm I don't give a crap what little farm was sitting there before!

I hear these calls every late fall, but could never get a good look at the birds making them. They were so high up so all I knew was they had large bodies with a long neck. A lot of birds have that description. Every year I try to figure it out, but no one knew. Just heard and saw them flying overhead and I knew they weren't geese and was pretty sure they weren't swans. I've seen a couple Sandhill cranes twice in my life, in the summer, walking in a field, making no sound that I could hear. This was in Minnesota and I live in Chicago. Looked up the sounds they make, and found this channel. FINALLY! Mystery solved! Thanks for posting this video

What a beautiful Project. I have always been weary of cattle and their environmental impact, but it’s not the animal that is the problem, it is indeed how they are used. And when they are stuck in feedlots for meat and dairy they are no good, but when strategically used they can transform entire landscapes and create biodiverse native ecosystems! Definitely a new strategy for native restoration I will be pushing for
