SNOW DAY a day in the life of a bushcrafter Muskoka Bros.
Went on my first solo kayaking trip for an hour. Was super nervous at first, but got a bit overconfident in the end. Made sure I wore a PFD and my family knew where I was. Read and watched safety videos and articles before heading out. Was great experience.
How long did it take you to get to the site from the 2nd portage?
I've had both canoes and kayaks. I actually used a single blade for my kayak. I've used both. Recently went back to a canoe and just bought a double blade for it.
I believe the false bottom go's in the stove to protect the stove from heat
I'm hoping this works for the Kel Tec KSG
What lenght of paddle?
cheesiest editing of all time - ok the clark griswold was a good one
Ahhh the old negative comment. So many emotions go through my head with how to respond. I will say that yes I’m not a professional editor by any means and don’t claim to be but on the other hand I’ve seen a lot less effort put into content on CZcams. At the end of the day I appreciate feedback and like how you lightened it up with the Clark Griswold comment. I think when we get to upset about things that just don’t matter we are waisting our time. All the best @carboncybr
@@MuskokaBros yeah it was a joke bro, not that serious lol
Waist of time
One of the advantages to a canoe is not having to use a kayak paddle.
Advantage to a canoe with kayak paddle is passing everyone in canoes using regular paddles
@@dylan15243 my boat does an easy cruise speed of 4.5 mph whether pushed with a canoe or kayak paddle. Except the canoe paddle is better in the wind, gives better control, is much dryer, and I feel a ton fresher after 4 hours of paddling.
@@NotALizardPerson81 gotta work on those shoulders.
@@dylan15243 or I can just use the superior paddle. What difference does it make if the performance is the same? Should I be trying to push my canoe past its hull speed? How would that make sense?
@@dylan15243 you sound really dumb. Oog oog, me like go fast, oog oog.
Hi, Cool channel dedicated to kayaking)))) I Like&Comment&Subsribe I'm Alexander from Ukraine, please rate my invention - a kayak oar with automatic blade rotation. This will help keep your hands healthy and allow you to confidently control the paddle with both hands! I would be interested in your opinion ;) Turn on English subtitles for translation. czcams.com/video/w1W1-D8tNM0/video.html
Any tips when choosing a double blade for a canoe? I can’t seem to find much. I’m 6’1”, canoe is 36”/38” wide. I’m assuming just get the longest paddle I can find?
I have dtayed multiple times on that exact site..the one at the bottom of butt/ralph bice is awesome..big sand beach...
Hilarious.
Just used a double blade on my 17ft canoe. Good results! Brought the single and didn’t need it.
in an non ventilated space, that stove leaks smoke, meaning ?
Just purchased a 14' solo prospector, thanks for the tips (I'll need them).
Do You have a video of it in water
Can i do that too in my pelican canoe…?
Go for it!
I own 2 '04s. 1 prerunner black, 1 5speed 4wd xcab.. prerunner at 240K. Still strong no problems. Xcab 4wd at 190K mi still runs like new. Both actually. Fun, reliable, cheap and easy to fix/mod/maintenance! 💯 Bias lol! I'll never sell'em
Update sold my prerunner 2003 Tacoma now own a 2002 Toyota Tacoma double cab limited 4x4 with the rear lockers trd off road … I absolutely love it
Just ordered one off Amazon. Using as a second layer of protection to my new Peragon bed cover. I noticed a little water seeping from hinges. We are driving to Disney World from Texas in two days, so guaranteed to see the elements. I will update to see how well this protects from water.
Beutafull
Nice
We have 12’ St Regis canoes, that are designed to use a double blade. They’re made from carbon/Kevlar and weight around 2lb. However, unlike a standard canoe, the seat is centered and low. We carry lightweight canoe paddles for when we’re in tight spots and lots of overgrowth.
great video! how would you feel about a 16ft canoe double blading? I'm tempted to buy a ulta lite canoe and was wondering your opinion? could it be to long for canoe paddling
I think 16’ would be at the max length for using a kayak paddle.
I got a 14 and use kayak paddle. Do what you want lol
Good to see the Muskoka Bros at it, haven’t seen you all in a while 👍🏻🌲
In my exprerience single paddles when solo canoeing are only suitable for flat water and large rivers without white water. I tried solo canoeing on the Dalsland canal in Sweden with a single paddle when it was windy, I just couldn't keep the canoe facing the wind and leave the shore.
I live in New Hampshire I was lucky enough to find a O2 without rust I ended up under coating with that amazing product they only sell the stuff at Home Depot And it’s all orange and white Ken it’s not liquid ranch and see other stuff that you spray on a bolt. It’s something shield it’s good stuff you’ll never have a rust issue in mine started to win the tailgate which is notorious here in New Hampshire so that Hass to get sprayed I wish I could think of a name anyway say thanks for the time…
It’s called PB blast long lasting surface shield
I know it sounds like a lot of money and I appreciate your video I don’t know if you’re into it or not I have a 2002 double cab I just raptor lined I did it in the 2020 Toyota lunar rock anyways check out RC4WD 87 Toyota truck I have a few of these brands and it’s a hardbody in Marty McFly is what it’s based after I have the forerunner and another one if you’re looking to scratch A itch. Yes company makes a really solid platform granite it’s about a $600 scratch off their fun
Nice looking glad to see you guys making videos again
cant wait to see it in action
The arrestor pivots and it sits inside the pipe. Again it will clog fast if using green wood. Please be careful using it, in winter no need for an arrestor, in fall I could see it, but winter not needed. Just saying..Fred
great tip thanks
I have a kni-co packer. Works well, but if you want to stay comfortable all night, still needs feeding every 20-30 minutes. No insulation in these tents, proper fuel is important, avoid the arrestor and carry a battery operated CO detector. Arrestor will clog if wood is green. Cheers Fred in Thunder Bay,Ontario. Northwestern Ontario
Awesome to know brother! Thanks for the comment! What size of tent are you using?
@@MuskokaBros using a 5 man military bell tent. Have videos on my channel using it in mid winter up here in NW Ontario
@@MuskokaBros many people have found themselves sick and in trouble from the arrestor. Even Lost Lakes had a known issue as well with the arrestor one winter
Hey brother. Good video, thank for sharing Some of your wisdom for a new hunter like me starting out later in life. You also got my cats attention with the rabbit call, Funny watching him. Would love to possibly get out with you maybe. Thank again.
I love these Tacomas with the Double cab TRD 4WD combination. I call them the “Perfect Tacos” in fact I was looking for one for my first car as I like to go off the highway every once in awhile... but they cost an absurd among of money in good shape so I ended up settling on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4WD in really clean shape with only 135K miles on it
As a teen we rented canoes and yes we paddled both sides of the boat. I remember my shoulders always being sore after several hours. As an adult I got a kayak and never experienced sore shoulders or arms with a kayak paddle. They're easy to use with practically no thinking behind it. I now also own two solo Adirondack style canoes, one came with a canoe paddle.. never use that paddle. No question about it. Kayak paddle is the way to go
We need some new videos

Two short single canoes. They would fit inside my mini van.

Very late to this video, love the concept of your channel! I've got an '04 Tacoma, I plan of keeping it on the road for as long as possible, currently doing a ton of work to it. just for piece of mind. Recently found a leak in my coolant bypass tube on accident. Was only planning on doing valve cover gaskets, spark plugs tube gaskets, fuel injectors, all upper gaskets (intake) and so on. Turned into a headache but after it's all done it will be worth it.
nice truck, I have an 04 taco TRD too and love it.
