Pittsburg Breaker Bar test on the new set up!
Y'all all cappin
Thats a 2ft bar. On the high end he is 250lbs. 500lbs + slight bouncing is like maybe 750 lbs. 900 is nuts
Perspective is needed, I’m 6-4 280 and that’s a 3-1/2 foot bar
what about with a impact had a extension on it and couldn't break it loose but when i take the extension off it now breaks it loose?
Ya it kills an impact, can’t take up the rotation of the extensions like a ratchet can
Uhhh. Bought those 20 years ago lol
Over tighten a lug nut attach this to it, then jump up and down on it and then see if it breaks 😂
"Every extension in the shop" dog I got more extensions in just one of my boxes 😅
Why would you waste your money on more extensions
Only when there is angle
At 90 degrees it doesn’t matter how many extensions. Because of math
Attach a 6 foot pipe, it will break with a solid table.
you loose efficency not torque a rachet / torque wrech use a constant force wheir a impact does not so the rachet keeps presure to tighten the impact does not so its just applying the same pressure every time
You do have to line up perfectly. If you are 6 inches off towards or away from the handle it will add or subtract around 50% of your footpounds.
This is like a glass salesman asking you try and break the window with a sponge ball while the window is open
Need a vagina without sand in it, a cheater bar, and a table that doesn't move. Not in that order.
I tighten my oil filters to 4325 foot pounds 😼
Yea because slow constant turn means no lose snapy rotation causes a problem
You went over your desired torque value with those extensions you didnt disprove anything
As a boilermaker you have to do the math to fiqure out the right torque on a bolt as if a flange for instance calls for 130 foot lbs and you use a extension or a 18 or 24 inch torqure wrench the real value will be different and over time can loosen the bolt or break it if you used tool long of a torque wrench same as like a engine head you can really screw it up if you dont do your math correctly you can crack blocks under expansion from heat or the torque value applied itself or you can leak pressure and coolant its true this is just a bad way of trying to disprove this some instances youd never be able to tell and you wouldnt care because youd never be able to tell obvi as they never tested the torque applied they actually almost 100% sure went over the desired torque value with the extensions
Flabbergasted
Wow 😊 big torque! Great video! 😊😊😊😊
I was waiting for him to bust his knuckles haha
Bull shit
Terrible technique. What'd ya do jump on the dang thing?
Wrong way but sure
You can even do it under water or in space. The physics doesn't change.
People don't understand physics.
Proper tools for the proper job! That simple!
Yes there's about a 16th of space in every connection.
Extensions only leech torque with impacts
Trq is the same in a linear way, always
What about a knuckle attached?
When you get away from parallel it starts messing with it, someone said after 10 degrees or so. Crows feet also make a difference.
3ft-lb off oooooo... Do you want a cookie or sum😂
Come torque the push arms on a D8 it’s 1,250 ft lbs
Now stick a leverage bar on it
Id ve more worried being so close to that thing getting any amount of foot pounds applied to it. That mother fucker explodes and a half your shop is in critical condition
Each extension acts like a sping. Taking up some of the torque angle. Your test is flawed. And the torque wrench isn't accurate enough to show why.
If the item that measures the action in question isn’t accurate enough to tell the difference for all intents and purposes there is no loss… and also it still doesn’t matter.
@@thepit2020 That torque wrench isn't accurate enough. There are such devices available to measure it, but you're right.. For that application, close is good enough. That's why torque sticks for impact guns work.
I do 450 on the tire lug nuts.
Yall dont have a real work bench?
Aircraft mechanic here, I've done 600ft/lbs with less effort than the first guy lmao
Yea only impact loses torque
Don't hold the head of the torque wrench.
Yea they teach that shit in first year trades school lol. Extensions do not effect torque as long as you’re not using a crow foot or something along those lines
Why would you lose torque? Where would it go?
Unless it's your truck- For shop liability reasons just put a new spindle on it.
I'd love to see that guy try and do a semi at 500 foot pounds! Guaranteed he'd fall on his skinny head! I'm 140 lb and I can click that at 500 foot pounds no problem
Yayy😂
Why is the vise on a table that isn't secured to anything.😂
Easily the most annoying voice over you could possible have on a video.
that showed me nothing but a man that couldn't hold the table 😂😂
This way you are not even going to come close to breaking the cheapest Chinese ratchet.
Next time try on a table that is attached to the floor
