Volcanic Diamond Head Crater of Hawaii - Hiking to the Top
Hiking to the summit of Diamond Head offers breathtaking views of Honolulu.
Diamond Head, a volcanic tuff cone on the island of Oʻahu, is known to Hawaiians as Lēʻahi. The name Lēʻahi likely comes from the Hawaiian words lae (meaning browridge or promontory) and ʻahi (meaning tuna), as the ridgeline is said to resemble the shape of a tuna's dorsal fin. The English name "Diamond Head" was given by British sailors in the 19th century, inspired by the calcite crystals found on the nearby beach.
Diamond Head is part of the Honolulu Volcanic Series, a system of cones, vents, and eruption flows that geologists believe resulted from renewed activity of the long-dormant Koʻolau Volcano. This series of eruptions also formed many of Oʻahu's iconic landmarks, such as Punchbowl Crater, Hanauma Bay, Koko Head, and Mānana Island.

July, 2024 Stix's Honolulu Noodles Restaurant (a Taiwan noodles restaurant) has home-made beef&bone&Chinese herb& Chinese mushroom broth without MSG(did not get dry on our tongues after consumption) boiled up to 72 hours! Noodles & won ton wrappers are home-made too! We like the hearty&piping hot beef soup noodles & the hearty piping hot won ton soup noodles! Natural & nutritious! Very good service too! 11am-2pm Beef Soup Noodles special price $15 (a $6 off). 2-4pm Beef Soup Noodles with 3 potstickers given for free. Be sure be at the restaurant at 9:15pm for dine-in. Take-out service after 9:15pm.
This is not down town it is just Waikiki. Down town is Aloha tower bishop street china town that is down town. there is NO down town Waikiki.
