Whenever I hear this theme, I always think of that little laugh he does. “Ah-heheheh…”

I personally love this theme, and how, in Zero 1, it just fits that wham shot of finally seeing the “X” you’ve been hearing about the whole game, and having it confirmed once and for all that, while this isn’t the original after all, it’s a perfect mirror of what X could’ve been like had Doctor Light not put him through that 30+ year moral testing. This can’t be the X we loved, but he will be the X we *fear.*

This music makes it clear that *some terrible thing* is going to happen.

This is my favorite "final stage" theme in any video game, ever. It truly feels like the end; there is no returning back; this won't last and end good. This is Zero's final mission, and he *knows* that it is. This will be the last time he will be fighting for those he believes in.

This might be my favorite "opening stage" theme, not just in Megaman series, but video games as a whole.

I've always found it surprising some of the narrative choices they've made with the Mega Man franchise. Even though Dr. Light's iconic blue robot is the face of the Mega Man series, it's Dr. Wily's red killing machine that ends up outliving him and becoming just as much of a hero if not more of one. I love how X and Zero's friendship transcends Light and Wily's bitter rivalry.

I first heard this song used in a short video from RiddlesMK for Smash Ultimate. Thankfully, someone told us in the comments what the song was called. Really, really great stuff! A worthy remaster of a final boss theme.

This is one theme I didn't think much of in its original form, but this remaster is fantastic! I'm so glad I have the collection on my Steam Deck where I can play with these remastered tracks.

Imagine if Omega himself was actually the original personality to Zero. I know it would be impossible given that the Virus was wiped out after the Maverick Wars, but it would be shocking that once Zero placed his soul inside the new body and his old persona cut itself off from him and integrated into the Old body for Weil to steal.
