DIY Aquaponics furniture piece
I tried to turn my aquarium into an aquaponics setup. (is a food production system that couples aquaculture (raising aquatic animals such as fish, crayfish, snails or prawns in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) whereby the nutrient-rich aquaculture water is fed to hydroponically grown plants)
Tried to make it look like nice enough furniture so that I could have it in a living room but still have integrated LEDs for the plants and for the fish tank.
Used a couple of IKEA remote things to automate when the LEDs and the pump went on. To feed and clean the tank i remove the front plywood piece.
Had to remove all the guppies because they overpopulated the tank (no fish was harmed during the filming btw)
In the beginning, I tried to use seeds directly in the setup, but I changed into growing the plants in a "seed starter kit" and when they sprouted I put them in the setup. I had super variable results, sometimes I got large plants, and sometimes they did not want to grow. Still learning, and will try to follow a precise guide in the next round. I did get some really nice lettuce a couple of times, but for the filming in the end I tried growing some herbs that did not turn out too well.
The pump might also be a bit too overpowered, and I am a bit unsure about the plant LED
When I get the hang of the growing part I will try to make a much larger setup.

Making a large room divider / bookshelf / built-in DIY
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 9 měsíci
Yes, I lost some of the audio for this video also :) Besides that, here you can see me making a bookshelf/room divider with a speedy approach. Used 18mm x 300mm precut pine boards and a lot of screws and glue. Part 3 of me making myself a small home office/maker space Hope you like it, ask if anything, and have a great day.
Making the worlds longest pen holder and a tool wall
zhlédnutí 797Před 10 měsíci
Part 2 of me making a home office/maker space in the basement :D Here I used a lot of the Ikea Skadis wall hanging sorting boards to hold my most used tools. I also incorporated the world's longest penholder (pure DIY, with a lot of 3D printing :D ) I will iterate on the placement and what kind of tools are on the wall. Also, i will try to make a better "all in one 3D print" solution for the pe...
Home office build with interlocking shelving unit // DIY
zhlédnutí 3,3KPřed 11 měsíci
I am making myself a home office / makerspace in the corner of our basement. This is the first part, where I create a shelving system using pre-cut pinboards (18mm) I used interlocking joints where I cut out grooves that would allow the parts to slide into each other. Combined with some drawers, light, and a desk area. DIY :D Tried to hide all the screw holes and such to make it a "clean as pos...

Small bathroom complete renovation // DIY
zhlédnutí 3,8KPřed rokem
Sooooo.... I spent too much time tearing down this bathroom and rebuilding it. Used "wetroom wall panels" from FIbo (fibo.no/kolleksjoner-veggpanel/) The floor uses vinyl from Tarkett (as both the top layer and water sealer) (konsument.tarkett.no/nb_NO/kolleksjon-C000020-aquarelle-gulv-til-vaatrom) not affiliated with the brands but thought it would be nice to mention it. The floor had to be la...

My kid wanted a place to have his new computer set up and a place where he could paint and play with Minifigures. He got to choose the wallpaper :( Plywood desk with a fake double thickness (for rigidity and looks) and some "ambilight" LEDs on the back of the screen. Added some 3d printet stuff and some other stuff. and there done. Hope you like it, and if you do please share and subscribe
Making a DIY Frankenstein workbench trolley with lift up mechanism for my sander
zhlédnutí 2,7KPřed 2 lety
Part 2 of redecorating my workshop, including building this Frankenstein tool cart with a spring-loaded lift-up tool holder. Got to reuse a lot of old materials and together with a kitchen lift-up mechanism i got my dream cart. Ps: The table is sturdy, the floor is not, so when it wobbles it's because of the uneven floor. If i use a shim on the one caster it is superstudy. Psst: I need to make ...
Making a built-in bed with a hole and slide-out cabinet

New built-in bed for a kid. Simple frame from a lot of leftovers and then some plywood on top of that. Making a wall of storage with a bunch of euro boxes
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 2 lety
Part 1 of getting organized and cleaning up the shop. Making a storage wall with euro boxes. The containers are from Auer (a great company with loads of great products) Oh, and the colors are because the boxes are "b-wares" meaning their colors are off but everything else is great. (that's also why I have so many different colors because when buying "b-wares" you cannot choose colors Part 2 wil...
Making a large and cool deck for the backyard with a twist. DIY
zhlédnutí 1,6KPřed 3 lety
The backyard patio needed an extension and that is what this video is about. The deck is constructed by 2"8" both the load-bearing parts and the upper deck. That way I figured I would not need so many supporting beams and concrete footings on the ground. Not sure if that is the way to go. But this large deck is super sturdy. Oh, and the vertical pieces are just because I think it looks cool. Ye...
Making a low tv cabinet // diy

Okay, so for a while I had the flat board (with some short legs) for a tv "cabinet" but it made things unorganized, So I decided to upgrade it a bit with some more valchromat (colored MDF) and some e3d printed things, I also get to use a few scrap pieces I have saved for too long :D Hope you like it. Making a Lego cabinet with acrylic drawers and some display shelves (DIY)
zhlédnutí 1,9KPřed 3 lety
We sort the legos by color (it is the only way :D) and I thought it would be cool to make a cabinet with some acrylic drawers to easily see the legos. As a bonus, I got to use a lot of leftover acrylics and a piece of steel i have had lying around for to long. Also made a couple of shelves to display some of the finished lego items. Next time I will invest in an acrylic blade for the saw :D Hop...
DIY Everyday carry Case (EDC)

Whenever I leave the house I carry a lot of small items with me. So instead of jamming all that stuff into the bottom of my backpack, I made a case for them. A DIY everyday carry (EDC) case. The idea was to line them all up towards the top. This case is version 1.0 and I will be adding and subtracting stuff as I get to use it. Hope you like the video. Nice. I was considering making a freestanding interlocking unit, but it looks like you need more supports? Was that the issue you had with it? Nesodden is beautiful btw.
Nice job! You have skills !
Thank you very much, glad you liked the video :D
Very useful dude. Thanks.
Thank you for watching :D
What kind of hand saw is that?? Amazing tool!
It is called a japanese pull sawm you can get them at most hardware stores i think. Its awesome to fluchcut and other small precise jobs :D Thank you for watching
Good job but that finger move at 1:17 got me goosebumps. That the easiest way to lose your finger. Stay safe and don’t rush.
Aye, a bit scary, you never know if the blade is gonna catch, had a the blade fairly low, but again you never know. Staying more safe nowadays :D Thnks for the comment and the viewing :D
How does it get fixed to the wall?
i just jammed it in there, no need to fix it, such a tight fit. :)
HOW DID YOU OBTAIN THE CUTTING ANGLES OF THE EDGES ?
I have another video that explains it a bit better, take a look and tell me if its still unclear :D
loved it! anyone know which hardware he used for the sliding doors mechanism and which filler he used for the drawer screw holes on the desk?
hi, www.jula.no/catalog/bygg-og-maling/beslag/innretningsbeslag/skyvedorsbeslag/ I think you only get them in Norway and sweden, but the same type can be found everywhere, The woodfiller is just some cheap normal one i found someplace :D Use whatever you can get ur hands one. The color was "light" :D
Master
:D you aswell
This is the way my Dad was. He’d just make whatever he wanted. It would be a beautiful world if more Dads would.
That is maybe the best comment ever :D
thats really cool, hopefully it will work as you envision soon, the only thing I would be slightly weary of myself is the electronics being susceptible to moisture build up, but its probably just paranoia on my part.
Thnx for watching and yeah i am a bit unsure about the leds right above the aquarium, the other electronics are far enough away and kinda closed off from the water. Paranoia can be good when dealing with electronics :D
I liked the design of the cabinet. A lot of work there. This concept is really interesting. I'll have to look into it myself!
thank you very much. Hope you make something similar :D
Very cool!
thank you very much :D
Love the simplicity
Thank you very much for the kind comment :D have a great day :D
Any word on part 2? Perhaps something that would fold in half?
i am working on it :D Folding would be awesome... hmmm... i might do that :D
I found your video about 2 days too late, but early enough for my next project! I don't know why, but I've never thought about using a straight edge in that way!
hehe, sry for that :D blame youtube... and hehe again, the straight edge trick is maybe not the best way of doing it, but it works. What did you make btw?
@@FlokrollProjects I made a hexagonal mahogany box, and constructed the top out of 6 triangles. I think next time, though, I'll use your trick to make a template, then just cut the triangles out roughly and use the template on the router table to refine them.
I want to change my room, can you help me
That sounds cool, watch some of my build videos and maybe you get some tips and/or inspiration :D Good luck :D
My fear is that l'll build something like this and then try to put it up and realize it's half an inch too wide lmao
Hehe, same. I used an old trick, the last shelves are cut after i have measured all the other ones that i made. So they are a few cm shorterm you can almost see it in the video
Are you still friends with Alexandre Chappel? I just watched a video of his that was in your shop from 7 years ago! Super cool to see you still make videos!
we still are very good friends :D The trouble is that he makes better videos then me :D
Id love to make a video with you I think I struggle with the same thing. You make better videos than me! haha@@FlokrollProjects
Excellent. It would be nice to somehow make it more modular for when you change or evolve your kit. That way when you change an item, you dont have to remake the entire thing. You would be able to just pop out a pice and remake the small compartment.
Yes, i totally agree, the powerbank broke down, and its hard to find a new one with the same specs :D Thinking about making a 100%modilar one as you said
If you bought this much wood today you would never financially recover from this.
Hehehe :D YOu should see my "deck" video. :D
A well thought out build, with nice surface details. I like the 'natural' appearance of MDF on a well made project like your desk, so I would've probably finished it with some sort of clear-coat, like amber Shellac.
Thank you :D I did use almost the same thing to finish this, a acrylic clear coat of some sort, glad u liked the video, have a great 2024 :D
What was the cost for this build? This plan is just what we're looking for in our town house!
Hmm, it cost around 350 usd for the materials, (i had the valchromat, but that part of the build is not where the money goes. The eurobokses are around 20 usd each. Let me know if you make something similar and send me a pic :D
How can i marry a carpenter pls someone 😅
I do not know :D
Hello Jan, I appreciate you for sharing your knowledge about building shelves and so, I built one myself long ago and I really enjoyed doing that book shelve. I just let you know that none of your websites are functioning. I would like to see more videos. On another note, it may sound critical but the skull on your main channel does not cause a good impression to attract viewers to watch your video, especially when you can demonstrate such a great skill in carpentry. Again, I thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills in this field.
Hello, happy new year and thank you for the comment. Yes, my websites are all down, and thank you for remining me so that i finally can get around to fixing them. Aye, the skull is not the best :D I am actuallt working on new better "branding" for my channel :D Thnx again
How many sheets of MDF does this desk require? Im guessing at least 2?
dont really remember, but yeah from 1,5 to 2 i think.
Super!
Thank you veru much, a super 2024 to you to :D
Cool, aber Zeitaufwendig.
Danke
Great video! Keep it up
Cool that you like it, i will keep it up :D have a great 2024 :D
Beautiful.
thank you very much :D
Axis and Allies! 🔝😊
one of the best games of all time :D
Cool build! Le Corbusier would be proud. He was an influential architect that often used furniture as room dividers. In his designs for the Unité d'Habitation in Marseille, France, he even put a tub/shower into a "cabinet wall".
Ahh,,, yes i know, Iam a big fan of Le Corb, love how he used furniture / large roomdividers on wheels and etc and such the make a house out of an empty shell :D Thank you for watching
@@FlokrollProjects Very underrated concept in my opinion.
good stuff, i really want a bookshelf but i only have a kindle to fill it with
Then you can make a samll bookshelf just for the kindle :D Thank you for kind words :D
Great build, my man! Thats a TON of storage, and a very efficient use of of space in such a small foot print. Also, great touch with the colored MDF (valchromat?).
Thank you very much, and yes Valchromat :D
Awesome project! Dude, I hope you go viral, your videos are great!
hehe, thank you, i also hope that :D Thnx for watching, you are awesome
7 minutes of joy in my day. Thank you so much for making this video for us and showing us how you made your maker space and those shelves. The wood looks really bright and fantastic.
and thank you for always bringing nice words :D
I would never drill the bed to my wall 😂
hehehe :D i will try to avoid it in the future :D
That's dope af dude, well done
Thank you very much :D

I think that might be good? Thnx for leaving comment and watching :D
juhuuu... awesome :D
... i know of a bigger pen__ holder ⬅
:D
Love your pen holding mechanism, really cool approach for holding multiple sizes of pens.
That's more than just a hack, that's a complete remix
hehe, yes, i kinda got carried away when i started :D
Nice prints! Where in Norway are you from? Greetings from Fredrikstad
Nesodden, just outside of Oslo :D Thank you for the nice comment, Love to Fredrikstad :D
Beautiful team work, guys. One question - no need to secure the bookshelf to the wall? Just in case...
Thank you very much, no need to secure, it is jammed into place, and cannot tip because it goes into the ceiling :D If you are really strong, you could pull it straight out though :D
Whats the round button part for????
I use it to scrape and remove stuff from steel and such metals that i dont want to scratch
Hello, how are you ? I hope you are well. I watched your work and I admire you so much. Greetings to you and your family from Iraq ❤ 🇮🇶
THank you very much for the kind words. My family sends its regards and hope you are having a beautiful day :D
