The idea for the channel came to me from just having conversations with people I know. I would tell them about what I was doing, often including all the things that would go wrong, and apparently people found it interesting and funny. It was suggested I should tell the world about my lifestyle.
We cover a little bit of everything. Amateur livestock farming, gardening, canning, grounds keeping, building maintenance, and since I am a mechanic by trade, maybe even some automotive or tractor repair. There is always something going on around here, I'll try to include much of it, even the catastrophes.

Therse youngest of our goats are growing well and we are about to wean the babies off their mothers. That’s good because their mothers are getting skinny and sickly trying to keep up with all these babies. They need a break. #goats #babygoats #dairygoats

Enjoy your channel and the goats or so fute and interesting.. What do you do with the males, sell for meat?
@@garymcintyre6356 The males are usually wethered to prevent breeding and then when they reach about 100lbs we take them to a local auction . It probably depends on who buys them, but their final destination is a dinner plate. Sometimes if we get one that looks really good we will keep him intact and sell as a breeder. But this is more difficult as he needs to be seperated from the herd at about 6 months so he doesn’t breed with his relations. I’m glad you like the channel. Thanks for watching!

I believe they are native to sub-Saharan Africa so I'm thinking they would not adapt well to high altitude living. Thanks for watching!

Yea they’re eating hay an everything so definitely need to be weaned
Some take to the solid feed sooner than others. All were born within a week of eachother though. I believe I weaned them within days of shooting this video. Thanks for watching!

I've only met one Boer Goat in my life!! He was at the Kidwell Farm in Herndon, VA! He was a year old Buck! He was extremely friendly and sweet!! He talked a bit too!!
