Toyota makes a 2e engine yes but it's a 1.3 motor and completely different. Basically just the engine codes that confuse people as they both called 2e motors but are completely different. This head on this motor is a head off a golf 4 8v crossflow motor.

Normal golf 1 2 and 3 heads on the 8v golf's have intake and exauhst at the back of the motor. This head comes off the newer golf 4 and beetles that have the 1.6 or 2.0 crossflow motors.

Golf 4 xflow head

Stock head, no work done

Change cam to 288 and do 280cc injectors

All depends whether u buy things new or source it second hand and also if you do the work yourself will also work out cheaper.

Howsit. Try borrowing a coil from another car just to test before you waste money on parts. Try coil first tho. Golf's don't have crank sensors as they work off the distributor for spark

Stock hv 1.8 block. Nothing done to it. Std flywheel everything. Car was carburetor and I just fitted golf 4 xflow head, throttles, 276 cam and dictator with branch. No head work done nothing.

Never had it on a dyno only been road tuned. Hoping to get it on a dyno soon with its new engine setup.

I Used Toyota 20v silvertop 43mm itbs and for my car I bought the Manifold directly from Rowland manifolds

Afx block is a 1.6. Easiest way to check is have a look at the crank, 1.6 cranks have 4 lobes(balance weights) and 1.8 cranks have 8 lobes. Piston and head option all depends on your budget as there's so many options. But personally I'd try source a 1.8 crank, fit it in the afx block, use the 1.6 conrods that came with block, rebore to 83.5mm and use Caravelle 2.3 pistons. That will give you a nice Rev happy 1900cc motor. Head wise I personally like the golf 4 xflow heads but can be pricey sometimes. But 1.4i or 1.6i mp9 head and mp9 intake setup would also work nice. But like I say at the end of the day it's all about how much you willing to spend and how far you want to go with the build.

Thanks. It has a Viper 4 into 1 branch with powerflow 57mm stainless steel exauhst with a free flow box in center and one right at the back.
