A lot of people say this is not an issue because the artists' work is just being used for teaching. However, it is not just for teaching; it's being used commercially. Generally, I am not a big fan of Intellectual Property rights, but in the case of music and art in particular, they are blatantly ripping off the artists. It's like taking all the parts of a song, switching them around, and singing like the original singer but with different words, and then claiming it as mine and profiting from it. In my opinion, it's a rip-off. Artists should be paid if their work is being used to train AI models that pick pieces directly from their work for profit. Aside from that, there is a creative process that goes into creating, particularly, music and paintings/traditional art. People spend thousands of hours learning how to sing, play instruments, and paint. AI just learns it all and spews out a mishmash of ripped-off music and vocals that are sometimes obviously taken directly from an artist. On the painting side of things, I'd assume this happens less often but I've seen almost direct recreations where the artists gets not even a mention. I say this as someone who uses AI generation in multiple creative fields.

Imagine if some musician was like, "You people can't take my song and reverse engineer it and create tabs for it and teach people how to play it! WAHHHHH!!!" <<< That's essentially what's going on with "artist" now. Musicians had people "taking" their music and getting paid to teach others how to play their songs for...decades. For...forever. Nobody cared. But now that people who make pretty pictures are experiencing something similar...they freak out. They'll eventually figure it out. They can't "control" how their art is used anymore now than a musician could "control" other people and prevent them from showing other people how to play music using the "fingerstyle picking pattern" that you use.

If science really isn't that important to American public now, I wonder how it was 10, 15, 20 years ago? It has to be related to the current political climate with its rather poor leadership
