The Solo
This is my first Gyrocopter solo. The camera's battery ran out near the end so I didn't get the full flight, but I had fun!

This is my second flying lesson. We did some ascending turns, descending turns and a high speed run to get a feel for the controls. Then we did some take off's and landings. The take off in a gyro was difficult and will require some more practice for sure!

I'm not sure, I think it is newer than a Benson. Maybe one of the KB series?

I met Ken Brock in the 1970’s, he donated everything to my high school so I could build a gyrocopter for credit. The bastards wouldn’t let me fly it...
My dad with my help (I was 14) built a Benson B8-M and met Ken at a fly-in at Wilcox dry lake in southern Arizona, Ken said I was the youngest gyro pilot he'd met and that night he gave us one of his new pat pending seat tanks. That's cool you got to build one for school but probably lucky they wouldn't let you fly it unless you had a lot of instruction and plenty of room just to taxi it in a straight line, they are a handful without experience. I hope you got to fly a gyro or something else anyway.
Nemo had a long take-off roll. What was the density altitude that day? Nice to see a variety of aircraft especially the home built birds.
I don't remember the corrected density altitude but it was really hot. I bet they were glad the lake had a lot of room!
Great instructor very patient. It’s amazing how much most people don’t know about flying and how hard it really is. Keep up the good work Scott.

Thanks, I borrowed a Panasonic HC-V770. I wish I had a tripod with a fluid head, but really just wanted to share the fun.
