Mostly about carrom, this fantastic indian game i felt in love when i was a child...
Since these old times; i had the chance to participate in so many Nationals, Europeans and International tournaments; and witness many of the best players in the world. You'll see many highlights of so many games i recorded in India, Maldives, Korea, Eurocups and France as well.
I've been now 5 times European Champion in Singles, 8 times National French Champion and 2 times 3rd in World Cups with the french team.
I hope you'll enjoy the channel and it's content !!

I fail to understand why thumbing is allowed at this high platforms,, can't these experts hit rebound shots!!?? 😳😳are they incapable?? it is kids who are desperate to pocket,, and resort to thumbing,, &many a player puts striker at half ring position!😳😳what purpose those rings are drawn when this is allowed!!?? 😳😳
Bonjour Pierre, never seen or heard of this game before but this video was in my recommendations and I sure enjored it! Have you gone on to win a world championship since? Do you still play competitions?
@@RobJaskula bonjour ! This game is really interesting and requires lots of control and strategy to play at a high level. That particular tournament was a bit different from all the other ones we play, regarding the rules, the coins we had to announce, the points and so on. Since 2006, I have been 6 times Europe champion, 4 times runner-up, and we came 2 times 3rd in team event in international tournaments with the french team. In singles in worldcups, I came once 8th in the main event, and once 5th in the mixed open called Swiss system. I had nice successes against top Indian, SriLankan, Bangladeshi, Maldivian players who are definitely the top 4 best countries in carrom. I never reached a semi-final yet in such tournaments, and I know it will be tough, those players are professionals and paid to perform, it's not my case. And recently the french federation decided that I won't be part of the french team anymore, because I live in an outside department in Reunion island, so I can't be ranked with all the tournaments in France. I hope you'll have a chance to discover this game one day, it's really a great game 🤗

I'm very new to this game - can someone explain why it wasn't a tie? Didn't both players pocket all their chips without pocketing the queen?

Thanks ! Yes a coin which is near the baseline is very useful and also called a bomb.A kind of joker that will give you the opportunity to open various situations to finish the board.

Been trying to get answers to the following on Reddit, but no answers. * If I pocket Queen and my last CM on same stroke do I win the board? * If I pocket Queen and opponent CM (not his last) is it considered covered for opponent? * Is a common strategy to not pocket queen too early?
@@JohnMRaggio you have to look for the international rules of carrom. *queen and your last coin: queen out, your last coin out plus one more of your coin out as a due, and you keep your turn. *queen and opponents coin in one stroke, you keep your turn to cover the queen with your coin. * depending on the score in the game and the position of the carrommen, it can be a strategy to keep the queen defended near your base frame for example, and reduce your coins first. But the queen is also very important, and many times it's better to confirm it when you can and better defend another opponent's coin. Because the queen value (3) is more around 7 or 8 if you count the 3 points of that queen plus the cover you didn't give to your opponent, and the 3 points + your cover when you took it for you. So it's definitely important to get maximum queens in a game.
@@seyeah1 thanks Pierre. The answer to #2 surprised me, but makes sense. If I don’t cover it then the queen comes out and opponent simply got a free coin? For #1 if I sink queen and coin that is not my last it is counted as covered, correct?
