I went to the alien experience in the arches Glasgow , it was just like being on the ship in the film, 3 American guys in army clothes and big guns had us running about as if the aliens were chasing us, we then ended up in what was an elevator, they had a device that they could track where the alien was , next thing the doors fly open and an 8 foot alien exactly what you see in the film comes in the elevator and grabs this guy 😮, I have never 💩 myself so much In all my life , it was so scary , since then Iv never watched any of the movies again

WOW, I just came across this documentary, this is my all-time favourite movie and glad to see I'm not the only one, have seen it several times and it just never gets old. The design, the acting/attitude, the constant suspense/urgency/purpose and while now in my 50s I still use the line "PUNCH IT BISHOP" when about to do something, LOL. This movie and some of the lines are just genius, masterpiece for sure.

I wish the video quality on this was better. A masterclass on old school VFX: how to use miniatures, puppets, and rear screen projection to great effect. Cameron was always brilliant in this department.

One of the funniest things was hearing Weaver talking about the difference between Scott and Cameron, her take on the yelling and hollering to people especially the union workers at Pinewood. Talking about how different the 2 were and how different the product.

Of many textural details in this movie that were never supposed to be iconic, Vasquez', "ADIÓS", on that weapon is one of the most memorable and it's barely in screen - it just showed up when they did their little steadi-platform dance so it got burned in .. It's incredible how those small things really add to the depth and immersion of a movie.

hasnt the pentagon always had a black budget for hollywood scripts based on CIA cases ie.aliens..? is it possible this was really based on real events the government was involved in..look at all the attn aliens have been getting in the govt last 2 years

you would think with all the ingenious things they came up with for this film, they would've been able to think of a more effective and efficient way of getting Bishop's upper body to land in the right pose, instead of just tossing it over and over again a million times hoping for the best!

It's actually ironic what Lance Henriksen said when he was talking about how James Cameron was thinking of introducing Bishop in the film...all the marines would be in cryosleep, while he was wondering the ship, keeping things ticking over.... This was actually how "David" was introduced in Prometheus.

It's so sad seeing what happened to Bill Paxton. Invaluable film documentary.

Remember when movies weren't boring, political CGI-fests?

I remember going to see this at the cinema with my then gf in 1986. It was packed and you could tell how good it was because of all the chatter as we were leaving and outside. That's how you can tell a movie is great- the chatter. Other movies with the same response i saw include Leon, Predator, Cry Freedom, Matrix. Notable exceptions where it was deathly quiet after inc Star Wars Phantom Menace & LOTR Fellowship of the Ring- the latter especially with hearing "boring" multiple times and worse- still reckon that series only did well because of hype and fanboys going 5x each to watch it. But Aliens, wow, the buzz after i still recall 38 years later.

This documentary is a movie in itself...luv it
