This is my channel dedicated more or less to my model building hobby and related topics. I started modeling as a kid, like most guys, but drifted away in my teens. Came back to it as an adult in the early '90's and started by building several aircraft related to Desert Storm. Then in the late 90's I found Finescale Modeler magazine; learned how to properly build a model and about the same time purpose-built a room in my basement for my hobby. Been puttering away down here ever since. Hope you find my channel interesting.

Finish Enterprise Project - 2nd Update
Second update on finishing my USS Enterprise project. I build the 1/700 Deck Vehicles and start on finishing up the deck with decals and prep for weathering.

Next year, 2025 will be the 50th Anniversary of the End of the Vietnam war. So I want to finish this project and take it to as many context/shows as I’m able to next year. To finish the project, I have a list of things to do on both the ship and the planes. I’m also thinking of hosting a group build on that topic, but more on that later. Suzuki Katana - Last Bike this Year?

My build of the Tamiya 1/12 Suzuki GSX1100S Katana. Another awesome kit from Tamiya, with just a few minor issues; yielding another fun motorcycle build. This is my last bike for the year as I want to get back to the Enterprise project and hopefully host a group build, so stay tuned. PS: I love Robert Cray. - John
48 Hr GB FINISHED! MPC Star Wars Speeder Bike

Didn't get it done last weekend, but finished up the MPC Star Wars Speeder Bike while enjoying my first Sci-Fi/Star Wars build over the last few days. Again, thanks so much Craig!! I'll have to try to get done on time again next year. I already have a few "easier" kits in mind. - John

Given the late start due to switching kits and the INSANE amount of scraping and clean up this kit requires (and the fact that I refuse to cut corners ) its gonna be close on getting done by 8 pm tonight. Gotta get back to it!

The Enterprise was Ed's 3rd deployment. You have worked on this project for so long. I hate that they decommissioned it, but I'm hoping people are going to see all the hard work you put into it and pile you up with trophies.

That is one long game, 10 year project.😮 carrier looks nice.
There are some real helpful tips in the comments, I've gotten inspired by your efforts and have started loading instructions, box contents and even models I have that are not on the data base. I have models made by obscure Chinese companies off of Nitto moulds, I can't work out how to add them to the Nitto Timeline though yet. I take a huge amount from Scalemates so it's about time I gave back, thanks for the prompt👍

Good on you John. I should probably do the same. I don’t have all my instructions but I sure have most of them. Have to scan some instructions sometime.
So the time consuming part is first creating your stash, i.,e. going and selecting all the kits you have. Then, at the bottom of the Contribute Tab will be a list of the kits in your stash that they don't have instructions for. OR. you can take your stack of instructions and go thru and see if SM has them; which I suppose you can kill 2 birds and check them as you add them to your stash.. (Hope that makes sense). Thanks

@@kyledehartsscaleworks. Don’t just go by the list at bottom of contribute tab. Go look at the kit and make sure they’re needed. Several in my list already had instructions

Good result👍 a very nice looking model, the finished item sure doesn't look simpler than the CB750F. If you want to try the complicated category have a go at the Hasegawa Honda CB400 Four in 1/12. The quality and detail is incredible but the man that can build the cylinder head and barrels without much swearing is a true zen master. I didn't make it to zen master😬
I just uploaded the instructions for my Hasegawa Kawasaki KR250 to Scalemates and yeah, 9 pages of instructions. Like 8 sprues of parts. That’ll be a challenge. Thanks.
@@mightyjjk1298 Yes the latest Hasegawa's are amazing, even internal detail on the engines. You could build a diorama with an engine on the workbench! I got a recent re-pop of their 1/10 Yamaha DT250 enduro, that mould dates back to 1970 and it's still a great kit. I'd rate then a bit better than Tamiya.

@@mightyjjk1298 True but I have a little trick there. I started buying from Plaza Japan and get about three or four models at a time to spread the postage. I paid a total of between $39 and $44 New Zeakand Dollars each for Hasegawa KH250, KH400 and RZ350. The Tamiya CB750F cost me $25 NZ. Set up an account, fill up your wishlist, jiggle around with your Cart to get the cheapest postage per model, as little as 12 days delivery to NZ! job's a winner.😁

Really nice. I like the way you demonstrated your process and showed the key parts of building this one, and how you over came the issues encountered. I do not know much about motor cycles, but motorcycles of this era are interesting subjects. If i did end up building a motorcycle it would be something like this.
You really should give motorcycles a try. Tamiyas are pretty straight forward to build; are fun; and produce a great representation of the subject. Go for it!

This will make a great build, I remember when I stsrted riding way back in1971, the big bike of the day was the original Honda 750/4, it looked big and heavy, it was electric and kick start, best regards from Australia, Les
