For some wierd reason this video popped up in my feed, but I remember these busses well with their semi automatic gearboxes to the side of the steering column. This one however sounds like a full manual double clutch box. I remember me and my pals as teenagers used to hang off the edge of the back windows at the bottom of the hill on our Ayr estate and get a lift up to the top. 😂 It was always a competition to see who could stay on the longest.

That does not sound like a happy bus at all 🤣

Does anyone else of a 'certain' age remember the 'Matchbox' model (today I guess we would describe as 4mm scale) of these wonderful Atlantean's with Alexander bodies? I loved mine and still have it! I liked the style because they were unknown to us in Swansea, South Wales, through that period, our buses were AEC Regents by MCW, Willowbrook and Park Royal. Love the engine noise and great to see the vehicle so immaculate...better than when new!

Funnily enough we have a 60 plate Enviro 200 and also an 11 plate that both sound just like this.
