Hello do you have a mapping similar to this one but for 4 decks in traktor ?
how to connect ipad to this?
For connection to iPad. Ideally, you need a camera connection kit with USB & power, as the 96 USB does not supply bus power. Thanks, Luke
I’m just trying to record my DJ set on audacity and I’m running into a situation where sound from both tracks from channels 1 and 2 are both playing and will not fade using crossfader, channel fade or even gain. I have experimented with Channel assignment and have been unable to fix the problem. Is the xone 96 compatible with audacity or is there something else as far as software I should use? Please don’t say tractor.
If you are on Mac, then it is likely that the software is not managing the Core-audio framework properly. The best thing is to try another platform or a third-party routing app. If using Windows or not the above, please drop us a message for detailed support. support@allen-heath.com Thanks, Luke
@@xonedjofficial yes it is a Mac and I am going to try Ableton, I’m also going to run my signal out of the master, since I’m a home user and just use booth for my sound. Also going with a scarlet 2i2 for my interface.
Yes, Ableton will work much better. FYI, you need to route USB 11&12 with the panel switch set to MST. Check this article for the 96-sound card routing. support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb/articles/24741954249233-Xone-96-Dual-Sound-Card-Routing Thanks, Luke
It is updated for use with Sonoma MacOS ?
Xone 96 runs class-compliant on Mac OS Core audio. I can confirm that it has been evaluated and signed off against OS Sonoma. Thanks, Luke
The 3-band isolator EQ is it the same type of isolator I will find on a rotary mixer?
In principle yes. However, you may find it as not as aggressive at cutting singular bands as some dedicated isolator units. But it will isolate the source when all three bands are on total kill. Thanks, Luke
Awesome thank you for the reply.
MADE IN CHINA
Para la Rmx 500 sería el mismo proceso??
Yes, the RMX500 is best configurged on the insert. Thanks,
I'm trying to map the Ableton crossfade with the xone 96 crossfade but it doesn't work @xonedijofficial
For assistance, please drop us a line. support@allen-heath.com. Thanks, Luke
good morning, my name is Arnaldo and I am writing from Italy. It's a shame that more updates haven't been released. I would like a longer size for the loops (8,16,32) and some choices in pou for the effects. Thanks for the attention
How does it work exactly with a xone 23c and traktor FX unit ? Should I use the same audio midi setup ? if I follow the same procedure as for ableton I have no results. and if I use the same audio channel in the sodtware (USB3&4) there is a huge feedback
Hi, With 23C, this will only work if the DVS jumpers are not fitted. Also, as there is no return channel on 23C you will need to use one of the 2 channels for this. Example: route signal into channel 1 with the filter on so the signal routes to FX send. The upstream from this is on USB 1&2. Route/process in software, then return to USB 3&4 downstream. This will come back on channel 2. Make sure the filter is never engaged on this channel, as it will cause a feedback loop. I hope this makes sense. Thanks, Luke
@@xonedjofficial Not really I am sorry. should I create an aggregate midi device on the macbook and use it as the audio device in Traktor or should I use only the xone 23c ? if I set the USB1&2 for the Input FX send input and USB3&4 for the Output FX return in traktor I have always a feedback look on channel 2 of the mixer, regardless if the filter engaged or not
I wonder why xone doesn't do another db4 with class compliant usb ?
Finally installed these cables. But the only inputs I see are Xone23c 2 & Xone23 3.
I can’t even install the drivers because they are not required but they clearly are to some extent if I can’t even get it working. This is so frustrating
Hi, For assistance with this, please drop us a line. support@allen-heath.com Thanks, Luke
DB4 was so far ahead of its time and 14 years on it's still an absolute beast. Sound quality and FX still hard to beat. It's an instrument.
Is it somehow possible to use this map with 2x K2? Or is it only for 2 decks? I' ve used this map for a year and really get used to it. Bought another K2 for accelerate my Deep House sets. Or can anyone recommend Traktor Pro3 mappingd
Adding a second K2, each device would need to operate on a separate MIDI channel. Therefore, the mapping would need building upon to incorporate the second K2/MIDI channel. Will this optical connection work with ableton push 3’s optical cable to send audio
Please note, X:link is ethernet and not optical. However, to answer the question. This connection is for MIDI transmission only. Furthermore, Xlink is a unique A&H protocol for X:link enabled Xone products. You should never attempt connecting this to any third-party hardware with RJ45 as it may damage your hardware. Thanks, Luke
Using an rmx with a pioneer mixer is straightforward. I use usb or send/return with trs cable. I see in the video you connected the rmx, the same way i would on a pioneer mixer. My question is. What do i need to do on the mixer for it to work. Also, it gets sent to the master so all tracks will be effected. Both fx and sampler. Is that correct?
Hi, The RMX is an insert device. It does not work well in a send-and-return. Therefore, it must ideally be used on the Xone 96’s master insert. Please check the article below for more info. support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb/articles/25826873884049-Xone-96-connecting-RMX1000-to-master-insert Thanks, Luke
Why do i send on mono and return in stereo? Why don‘t i just go in stereo in and out? And i if i do send on mono, will my whole mix be fake stereo?
This reference is specific to Boss pedals, which enables them to run in full wet mode. You can connect stereo with these pedals, it just won’t be fully wet. Try both configurations and see what works best for you. Thanks, Luke
As far as Sound would you say this mixer compares to any rotary mixer? if so which one can I compare to please, as far as sound. Also does this have a ISO
Does it have an Isolator?
Hallo there I have a question soo do is it possible to connect my x1 mk1 and a xone 23 playing at the same time and if yes how?
Hi, Yes, you can use both devices simultaneously. FYI, you will need to connect them independently to the computer. Best, Luke
3:39 you pointed out a slight discrepancy on the meter... You mentioned that you were going to explain why later in the video, but i dont think you did. Can you explain the reason as i have a similar occurrence on my PX5... Thanks!
is the same way to connect pedal in XONE:22 like XONE:23?
Hi, Yes, the 22 is connected the same as shown in this example. Thanks, Luke
@@xonedjofficial Thank You very much! Exited to test first effects ☺
Hi, im an owner of this mixer and i would like to know if it could run ableton live 11 or 12 in session view in order to run samples on a per example channel 1 kicks, channel 2 snares and so on also the 2 first Chanel to use it as fx send? Pardon my ignorance but i do not own ableton and dont want to purchase it for nothing. I mainly run traktor scratch pro 3. Thank you
Hi, You can route audio to six stereo channels on the 96. These are the four main stereo channels and the two return channels. When connecting to Ableton, I can confirm that it is possible to return a combination of audio and FX return to all six stereo channels. Thanks, Luke
Hi there, Ive tried evertything but I'm not able to record my sets .. my set up is Mac + TRAKTOR PRO 3 + Xone 96. I also have two pedals connected to send 1. Is this the issue or traktor won't record without cdjs or turntables?? Thanks,
Hi Juan, There are specific instructions in the 96 user guide for recording into Traktor. Please check page 33 www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2023/06/AP11645_2_XONE_96_USER_GUIDE.pdf Best regards, Luke
@@xonedjofficialhi Luke thanks for it. That’s the issue the manual only explains when the set up is with cdj and turntables. As I don’t have either of them, when I route the mixer channels to line nothing comes out. Only when usb1 is selected. Is there any work around if only mixer and mac are used?
When I engage the filters to channels A and B, and these are set to Mic Input, the filter does not affect the sound. It does affect the sound when these channels are assigned to another input (such as return). Is this supposed to be the case? In other words, is there a reason why it is not possible to apply a filter directly to a microphone (regardless of whether it's Mic A or B)? Or do I have a defect unit?
Hi, By default, the Mic input is on a clean feed, this means that the Mic signal only passes to the Main LR output, and not the booth or record out. This clean feed also bypasses the channel filter routing. However, with the clean feed disabled, the Mic signal can be routed to the filters. FYI, there are internal jumper configurations to turn on and off the clean feed. For further information, please drop us a line at support@allen-heath.com Best regards, Luke
I am doing it exactly as the video, mono trs cables and the FX only sounds in the left channel/speaker, I have pressed de the HiZ button, anyone with the same thing?
Have this exact issue, did you figure it out?

Is it possible to mix regular vinyl records and timecoded DVS on xone23c at the same time? If I understand correctly, when making a dvs mod connected with cables, the phono inputs become like line inputs? After such a dvs mod, can I put a regular vinyl record with a recording on the turntable and will I be able to mix this record into a dvs timecode disc with a track from the tractor?
The RIAA is not converted when the DVS jumpers are applied. With the DVS jumpers in place, it is possible to play a mixture of regular vinyl and DVS. As the USB return feeds back post mixer gain-stage, you simply need to keep the gains down when mixing DVS, then use/turn up the gains when you want to play regular vinyl. FYI; the DVS gain, therefore, needs to be established with the software soft-gain controls. I hope this helps! Best regards, Luke
Thank you for this excellent video! As a semi-experienced DJ I learnt a lot!
Nice. Thanks Just a question. How to comnect to the ecler nuo 2.0. Im new in pedals effect and i dknt have any experience.
Can't find the tsi.

What a great mixer, the Effects are the best. IS there a sucesor or update version for this mixer since, is from 2011, ?
Hello in this document about crossfader calibration i cant find anything about the crossfader it self. If i understand right is digital fader innofader mini plus and it sends MIDI data to mixer? I am little bit confused because there a button on fader use to "program" it? My mixer works right on channel Y but when I select X it plays even if the fader is whole the way to Y possition? What shoud i do? Thanks www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2023/06/X96_XFADER-calibration.pdf
Hi, Alex mentions in the video (@3:34) that the other side of the travel needs pulling back a bit. This is possibly what you need to do to bring it in line. The fader itself should not need calibrating, as we implemented a calibration potentiometer. However, if you wish to go deeper with the fader, the instructions are below. www.innofader.com/installations.php?id=42&pid=15 Thanks, Luke
If I connect it this way, the initial audio signal won't decrease in volume? Because without any fx pedals connected this is the case
Can I connect Roland TR-8S directly via MIDI?
Hi, The TR8s can connect to the 96’s MIDI din output. This is ideal if you want to pass MIDI note or clock data on from a computer that is connected to the Mixer’s USB interface. FYI, you will need to make sure the MIDI-enabled switch is on and illuminated for the sound card you are connected to (USB1 or USB2?). Thanks, Luke
Sorry is it possible to use this channel for the traktor preview track? Via USB
sorry if I want to use output preview traktor in xone 96 how do I do it? which channel can I send it to?
Hi Robert, Thanks for the message, The preview player can be routed to one of the Xone:96 return channels on USB 9&10 or 11&12. You can then cue this mixer channel to listen to the preview. Best regards, Luke
That hair due got my back. I trust this guy
Is there any way to have the Master meters actually show the Master output? If it's only showing you what's in cue, there's no good way to monitor your actual output is there?
Hi, The master VU will display the master bus level when the CUE system is completely inactive. FYI, like the channel meters, this is also displayed pre-fade. Kind regards, Luke
Sorry, but can you sample with this mixer? If so .. How you do the connections?
Hi Matteo, The 96 does not have built-in storage, so it’s not possible to sample into the mixer. But you can either sample into computer software via the mixer’s USB or a dedicated sampler via the Aux sends. Thanks, Luke
@@xonedjofficial Hey thanks for the prompt reply. I did not express myself properly. I would like to use the input of the soundcard to pass the sound into my daw (Ableton 12). Let’s say, in channel 1, I have a synth connected, which I would love to record using the soundcard of the xone. Somehow I can not see the meter reading the signals, so I cannot record my lines. I thought this would have been quite immediate and simple, but looks it is not, or else I am doing some silly mistake. Could you help ? Thanks again
Hi Matteo, Thanks for the follow-up. If you are connected to any of the four main stereo inputs on 96, you can route directly off the RCA input connector to USB. However, you must ensure that the routing switches have been configured correctly next to the socket. You will notice four white switches labelled LN: PH. If you are running a line-level device into Stereo 1, then the switch for this channel must be on LN for line input. The USB channel for Stereo 1 is USB 1&2. It is these channels that must be routed into the software. For further details on the soundcard routing, please check page 23 of the user guide. www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2023/06/AP11645_2_XONE_96_USER_GUIDE.pdf Best regards, Luke
@@xonedjofficial Thank you Luke for your prompt reply! I will be back home in few days and it will be the first thing I’ll try. I’m glad to hear that is me doing a mistake rather than the mixer not being able to record! I only have to set it up right then! I’ll update you then. Many thanks for the support Luke, much appreciated!
@@xonedjofficial Hi Luke, I have just tried again all the possible combinations. Nothing to do I am afraid. The only question is, is there a specific cable I should use? I’m using a normal usb type C cable from U green, and I have also tried a usb 2.0 connected to an hub. With these 2 cables I can only select the mixer, but not audio in. All ins and out activated… I really have no idea what is wrong. Please help!
I dont get it, i have 3 Xone K2s but i cant use them seperatly in ableton, whats wrong? the 3 are shown at the preferences but use all 3 the same parameters...
Hi, Please ensure that you have set each K2 device to its own MIDI channel. There is guidance on how to do this on page 11 of the user guide. www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2023/06/XoneK2_UG_AP8509_3.pdf Thanks, Luke
oh yeah i got it, thanks!@@xonedjofficial
What could be the problem if the K2 won't turn on after holding the power on setup button?
Hi, The power on setup button should be pressed whilst connecting the K2 to USB or X:link (bus power). However, this is only to access the device setup. When connecting a K2 it will seem unresponsive until it has been mapped to software. If the K2 goes through the power-up sequence (LEDs flash from top to bottom). Then it is likely that this is the case. If you require further assistance, please drop us a line to support support@allen-heath Best, Luke
Hi Luke, Thank you for the quick response. I've done it all as you wrote with the little help of the video and it works. Cheers!@@xonedjofficial
Hi there, just wondering if it's possible to use the DD-200 in stereo? I think it's possible to set it to not put out the direct signal, which i understand would be 100% wet? If so, should I connect both inputs and outputs and should I still use TS cables? Thanks loads!
Hi, For send and return. If the device is capable of outputting 100% wet within the device parameter settings, then a stereo connection can be maintained. FYI, the TS cable is typically for the FX device to power on, as some boss pedals require the Ring and Sleeve tied to enable this on the input. Again, this is down the FX unit. As far as the mixer is concerned, you can use TS or TRS. I hope this helps! Best, Luke
Hi, I have the FX return setup but can't seem to get it to only return the wet FX. As soon as I turn up the send on the xone96, the channel is doubled in the return, even with FX on and all the way wet on traktor, the dry signal is still coming through the return channel. The D/W knob on traktor seems to just turn the wet up? Any way of stopping this? Thanks
Hi, Thanks for the message, Please ensure that the send level on the return channel is turned down! If you are still having further issues with this, please drop us a line to support@allen-heath.com Best regards, Luke

Great video Thank you 🙏🏾
great video. There is something not clear to me. When the master meter shows 0dB that means we have a 4dBu at the master output. What does correspond the 0dB on the individual channel meter?
Hi, Thanks for the message, +4dB is the standard for professional equipment. This, however, is only local to the main output stage. The channel meter and main mix bus operate at 0dB for unit, this is so the user can clearly see the headroom of the stages and system. Furthermore, this is also only relative to where you have the master level control set. This can vary between Xone models. Best regards, Luke
@@xonedjofficial thanks for your reply. I think you meant +4dBu. That is clear for the master meter and I guess that the same metering circuit is used for both master and channel meter. As we know dB does not mean anything since it is a relative quantity. This is the reason why I was wondering to what 0dB corresponds on the channel meters. Unity gain ok, but it still depends on the actual voltage level coming out of the GAIN and EQ stage.
@@xonedjofficial thanks for your reply. I think you meant +4dBu. That is clear for the master meter and I guess that the same metering circuit is used for both master and channel meter. The refence is unloaded for analogue hardware, yes. The channel VU is post-EQ, the master VU is post-channel fader. Therefore, the Channel VU will display the exact voltage that is hitting the channel VCA. The master VU will show the exact voltage of the summation of all channels that are being routed to the master bus. Best regards, Luke
