"Walken" on Cob
Clayton demonstrates how we mixed our "Oregon Cob" material using certain proper proportions of clay, sand and straw. Our good friend Becky is building up the material on the walls of our bathhouse structure. This is our second day on our very first cob building project and we enjoyed the heck out of it!

Lori Wall Bed Flip Up Table
zhlédnutí 29KPřed 11 lety
Lori Wall Beds are still the affordable murphy bed alternative and now they have a flip-out/fold-down table!!!! That's right! This table flips up to counter top height so pick out a couple of breakfast stools to pair with it. The buit in table can be purchased as an addition to any new or existing Lori Wall Bed. Contact me for a quote. Tables cost $100, stain and shipping is additional.

A revolutionary alternative to the Murphy bed, a Lori Wall Bed is a space saving bed/shelving unit in one. Great for apartments, condos, and places where you need the extra room. This is a video of the installation of the bed. Visit www.loriwallbeds.com for more info.
Damn this company came a looooong way god bless!!
this is such a funny premise for the vid. good job.
We've had ours for about a year and a half now. The wood pieces that touch each other on the frame and platform when they open and close are getting torn, chipped, and destroyed. The included latches that hold the platform to the frame when the bed is upright have been buckling and one just popped. Thank goodness my kids weren't playing near it. We bought the plans+hardware kit. Built the bed out of poplar stock and birch plywood. Sanded and stained and assembled myself. It looks nice, it works for guests, and I love having a Murphy bed. I am also proud of having built our queen size myself. Still, after a year and a half of use, my wife and I wish we'd have just gone with a real Murphy bed with proper lowering hardware. This thing takes strength to raise and lower and you've got to have it lined up with the frame perfectly or you'll have to keep raising and lowering and adjusting. It's a workout. After all of the money spent on materials, time invested in building it, and money spent on a mattress, you're better off getting the real thing.
Lmao
The pushups lmaooo
Uts a great content thanks for sharing
it's heavy heavy heavy!!!
How do I buy? murf2@cox.net
Hi all! I think I've got another comment on here but I'd like to update. I built my own after buying the instructions + hardware kit. The instructions were very detailed and having all of the hardware ready to go was fantastic. In my experienced opinion, this design is fantastic and clever...if you're going to stick with a twin. It looks great when it's put up and it's very nice to have the bed separate from the frame so that you can essentially move it to wherever you'd like to sleep if you want. However, if you're going bigger than a twin, that platform with the mattress on top of it is very heavy and cumbersome. I built a side-rolling queen frame and platform. Getting the bed to roll down takes careful and steady movement, especially once it passes the crest and starts coming down quickly. I'm in my late 30's, so I'm fine lifting it and lowering it...but my dad in his late 60's would likely throw his back out, even with help (which LoriWallBed recommends with bigger beds). Aside from the lifting and lowering, the biggest frustration is getting the bed lined up perfectly with the frame when it's time to put it back up. Since there's no folding hardware, you've got to line it up perfectly...but you can't see how everything lines up mid-lift. I've used the bed countless times and not once have I gotten it lifted into place perfectly on the first try. That's not only been a strain on my legs and back (from lowering and lifting repeatedly), it also marks up & gouges the wood of the frame and of the platform. Lastly, though it's relatively easy to move the frame to a different location while the bed is down, you have to make sure that the floor is perfectly level or the bed platform won't sit into the frame...since there's no hardware attaching the two. Our bed is in our basement. The original place we had the bed had level flooring on both sides. We've decided to move it, though, because it was (believe it or not) too in the way for our layout. Now that we've put the frame in the perfect spot regarding our living layout, it's become a real headache...because the floor isn't level. We've leveled the frame...but are now trying to MacGyver a support for the bed platform to sit on so that it's level with the frame and will actually fold into it. Even then, though, we'd have to actually lift the whole platform while the bed is *upright* in order to get it to sit onto the support lip that we're fashioning. We'll need to create some type of ramp for it to roll up with. At the end of the day, though we're happy with the way it looks, it took me a very long time to shop for the wood, make all of the cuts, sand every single board, stain every single board, and assemble it. If you don't mind having a bare-board Murphy bed, sure, you can probably buy the wood and get it together in far less time than I did. Still, after the cost of the wood and a good mattress, we ended up spending well over $1200. For that or a little more, we could have bought a regular Murphy bed and saved a lot of time. The Lori Wall Bed is a cleverly designed bed that any DIYer would enjoy building, as I did. The company seems to work very hard to make it as easy as possible for their customers. I think that's awesome. I just caution folks that might think it's a more cost-effective option. Do your research and really try to decide how much work and effort you want to put into lifting and lowering the bed if you're going for something bigger than a twin. This thing is not for older folks and can be a tipping hazard for those with little ones (the latches that hold it in place in the frame use small screws that are to be driven into the end grain of plywood, which will no doubt weaken over time).
Thanks for in-depth report. Very useful and informative.
Do you still have the instructions?
Are the boards in your video run through a jointer and planer?

Ok
Hi do you sell this in europe?
"Lori Wall Bed. We make the bed, you die in it" really creep me out... it sounds like an evil twin voice in one of those horror movies... I meant "you lie in it"... lol.🤣🤣🤣 damn you, autocorrect!!
$80 perfect price point for a wall bed :o definitely picking this up!!!
That's just for the plans and hardware. You shop for and buy the wood, do the cutting, and the assembly yourself. That also doesn't include the cost of a mattress.
It's nice to see women working for a change. Terrible acting
is there a slower version of this with measurements?
First off, get rid of him!!!! YOU are a little bad ass, I saw you getting ready to do one handed push ups. Hey post the plans with all specs for us. I'd like to try the bed out with you any time. Your so fucking hot!!!!!
where can I buy one?
Very corny, but I loved it!!!!Please keep it up :-)
Its great to have something like this! I can have the bed when needed and if not needed, I have a space to do my dancing or do work out ! Good idea for a small condo in the city!

how isnt this a murphy bed?
How does is the bed attached to the frame?
+Green Kitty what
+Green Kitty it clearly doesn't and sits free of the wall frame. I think the back ledge is high to have a slight angle to the unit when tipped up. this seems like it'll be heavy with unassisted especially with a memory foam matress
,
wilding wellbeds is way better
+Tyler May and 6x more expensive
+Nia Sweetz my family owns wilding wall beds and it's way better quality then this junk

Thats great and all, but who wants a giant box looking shelf towering over everything in the room?
It could be made to suit by blending in the background color. (whit, black..whatever)
I just discovered the Lori Wall Bed, bought a plan for the vertical queen sized bed, and am super pumped to start making one this month! Also... Three years ago, I guess you can't reply to really old entries anymore: But hey J0EReally: newsflash, the designer and builder of Lori Beds isn't the dude: It's Lori Moore, and it looks like she is the woman doing pushups in the video. But cute attempt at the sexist notion that they mens builds the things, the womens do not.
Do you still have the instructions?
You should install an led light kit into the bed frame so you dont have to move the lamp.
Can They Make An Eternity Bed ? That Would Be Awesome!!!
