ok this is tremendously helpful theres a piece of floor missing on the floor of my room and ive been trrying to figure out how to build a new piece frrom scratch . im thinking to use my art sculpting tools to make the piece of wood think its floor. but because the floor has been like this for years now and we didnt know im realising its explaining why the pieces of floor have been slowly getting lose from one another. so yeah thats my plan wish me luck like i have never touched any flooring ever before and it feels delicate and intimidating haha . big many thanks im feeling the probable success right now

You should use a transition glue when gluing the abs to the drain plastic not abs glue

I was interested in the logic of using plastic and using Kerdi membrane over the mortar. Wouldn't this lead to a sandwich of moisture leading to mold potentially. I always thought you never wanted anything sandwiching any area between 2 waterproof membranes.

Kerdi pan requires an absolutely level surface. Older houses simply are never level. Mortar may be a better solution in such cases.

This is just Overkill.

All shower systems suck. The best way is the old fashioned way with a poured pan and skim coated walls.

Hey guys, I would definitely look at a specialty tile shop or roofing supply place.

Nope...I even went to an authorized Schluter dealer, and they didn't have it or know about it. It's not a Schluter brand trowel cause the handle would be yellow. It's probably made by some successful manufacturer that is popular in a local community somewhere in the US that the actor/installer has been to. Bummer.
