I had a BK in February of 2024 and had pain in the stump with the prosthesis so I added a 12 hour lidoderm patch to the area of pain each morning with about 50 percent reduction of pain.

I'm 66 years old. Have had a prosthesis since February '23. It is a very long road back to normal, and looking forward to getting back some of my life. Someday.....

No. 2 version: Crutches =natural beauty Prosthetic = blood, sweat & tears/but "easier" life/ Which is Better? The answer is subjective, as anything in life... Ugh
Why needs more suffering and sweat for an Amputee? Or loves to suffer? If yes, gets wear prosthesis... Expensive, weat's complicated, skin's irritated... But wear with "health". Still later will be unhealthly for Stump.

Tired them all. Certain Dry gives me a rash. I have been wearing a leg for over ten years. I still can only go about 5 minutes before my leg starts to fall off with my elevated vacuum leg and sooner with my pin lock leg. I can't afford $1800 for a new liner 2 or 3 times a year. It is hard enough to buy sleeves at $150 each 3 or 4 times a year. I'd like to try osseointergration but i really can't afford $100,000.00. At the rate i am putting on weight, i won't be able to wear a leg much longer anyway so this is probably all a moot discussion.
Same here & I work a trade job. I had to go with the old 70s style. The new liners will slide right off in about an hour of work. Not effective. Makes me look like a liability. I’ve found monostat cream or the anti hand sweat cream helps a little, but baby powder during the day. A & d ointment at night
Also a weight bench brother. Low weight high reps. Push ups, sit ups, squats and planking You’ll loose the weight
Hi listen as i don't know you i won't get into the whole weight debate of why allow yourself to get overweight in the first place, but what i can say is in my experience regarding putting on weight, i was way overweight, i am 6ft3 i was normally around 12 stone which is still overweight, but i ended up at just short of 19 stone, this caused me massive issues especially regarding my limb, long story short, i went on a diet and in time over the years i am now down to 12½ stone, around 6 stone i lost, i still need to lose around another stone or so, but i honestly can not stress enough just how important it is for yourself to lose weight, not just because of you're leg etc etc but for you're overall health in general. 19 stone = 266lbs or 120.656kg, 12 stone= 168lbs, or 76.204kg.
