    This to great to believe, I am speechless. I too have watched Paul McWarders videos, he had two different series on Arduino. One you had to have a cut of hot coffee then the next one you had to have an iced tea, 🙂 These series are, as you say great for someone like me. (I am totally illiterate in electronics - but still want to do it) This is something that I am more than interested in and will be very grateful to you if you choose to do what you say. I am going to go ahead and order the items you have links to such that we are ready here to follow along with you. Well, my wife is mowing the lawn already and only 3 weeks out, what a great lady. On the window project, I know exactly what you mean about that it seems like you are living in a new house. We noticed how much the traffic noise went away. And in addition to the energy thing there is another big advantage. Just after we put the new windows in we had an awful wind and hailstorm. It took the siding all off of the west side of the house. And it broke all the windows out on that side too. But only the outer pane of glass. No dirt and debris got into the house because all the inside pains were intact. The salesman said that was common because the broken pane on the outside is enough to slow the hail down and not break the inside one. So, we got all new upper and lower sashes again. That was very easy each window had a serial number and he just got that and new sashes came and fit perfectly. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for the video and all the effort you put into them.

    I bought my skil 77 in 1971, 53 years ago. Great saw for structural framing and deck building as well. Only parts I’ve replaced are the cord, brushes, and foot after one of my carpenters dropped it from a roof we were framing. Thanks for the instructional demonstration as I had a problem with excessive sparking. Thought I needed an armature but cleaned the parts up and installed new brushes. Also when it was disassembled washer springs fell out, but followed your video which was very helpful. Thanks

      We do over a hundred charity quilts a year and having to manually adjust the pattern for each one was taking too much time. In addition the way it was set up there was no way for us to start in the middle of a pattern if needed, so if you had an issue you had to start again at the beginning and stop at the exact second so you could start the stitching and if you missed it you had to do it all over again. It is very doable if you are only doing a few quilts a year and enjoy the process. I'm assuming you have seen my other videos on CNC Quilting Machine. The Butler was by far the best deal for us cost wise and does not have an annual fee like some systems. We have been very happy with it. I hope you come up with a solution you like.

    Thank you, question, I have a HQ. Is it possible for the timing to be out completely? I’ve been taught to time my own by a HQ Tech because of where I live. I’ve timed mine over 20 times and it’s been slipping more often. According to their helpdesk, they said it’s not close enough to the hook. It skipping stitches forward, not backwards or not side to side. It stitches along just fine, maybe every other quilt, I have to retime. Do you have any suggestions? It’s computerized and I haven’t hit anything. It just happens.

    • @SoatMon
      @SoatMon Před 10 dny

      I really only have experience with my machine, however... Timing should not be an ongoing issue and should only need adjusting if you jam the needle into the hook or something comparable. If you are setting the timing and it is working correctly then 2 quilts later it is off then the screws holding the hook in place are coming loose and allowing things to move. If you have set it this many times it is likely that the shaft that the hook is attached to is chewed up from the tightening the screws. Maybe a little sandpaper would help smooth them out. Not too much as you don't want to make the shaft smaller. Try tightening everything up as much as possible and see it that works. Sorry that's all I know to try. Remember once you set it, it should not change so something is not tight enough or is loosening up and allowing the hook to move. Good luck!

      The machine has to have it's own stitch regulator. It is a very common thing on longarms and can be added. Look on the internet and you will find them. The CNC only moves the machine around, it has to do the stitch regulating.

    It's always the seat that fails triggering the blowoff valve which does not need servicing. I have a rather large pile of SR 450 etc bought at auction so I notched a piece of pipe to clear the nipple, gauges and blowoff valve then welded some angle to that so I can clamp the fixture in a vise. I grind the chamfer off the socket I use for the seat nuts (use a SIX point socket) to get full engagement. (The chamfer on sockets guides the broach during production and is of zero use to anyone using the socket, I remove them for any thin nut.) The seat part number normally fits multiple regulators so I keep seats and whole kits handy.

    The carpet solution is a really good one, I agree. You are right about the concrete idea. And for me it is always so much work to get the materials and get the mixer out and all that goes with that. Your dogs will love using this for years to come. And I sure would like to see your 12 foot nails. Just kidding, I did see your correction. We couldn't help our selves and we went a put in a pretty full garden beans, okra, purple hall peas and tomatoes. It just isn't right to go without a garden. About the surgery, No the knee and hip are not at the same time. Knee, then in about three months possibly the hip. But you ask a good question, I have heard of people doing both at the same time. I don't think that is wise. Something like that very nearly did my sister in a few years back. How are the new windows working out? Is that project all finished up. I have a little painting and laying laminate flooring in my wife's sowing room them I will be FINISHED with the hours. Finished 40 years later, I don't want to hurry things. Enough chatter, and thank you for the video.

      @SoatMon Před 10 dny

      I admire you putting in a full garden. I hope all goes well with your wife's surgery! The windows are completely done and are fantastic. It's like being in a new house. We still have to fix some paint in side but that will come one room at a time. I know what you mean about not getting in a hurry I started this house in 1987 and still have not finished...

    I'm wondering if anyone noticed the exact symptom for this failure. Mine leaks air like this one, but the anvil that drives the nails won't return to its upmost position, which is what got me on this in the first place. This happened right after I rebuilt the upper seals which failed due to incompatible cheap seals, which lead me to thinking I had put it back together wrong. Great video, thanks. I'm having the same issue and will take mine apart. Gotta wonder why they make these things with O-rings that don't hold up like that. Such a cheap part, and such a pain when it fails.

    Very good advice. It took a while but now I am getting better at this and better in putting pictures like this where I can find them. And it doesn't take 10 years for me to forget. How about the next afternoon. This idea likely would work really good for wiring issues too, I would think. I can forget where wiring goes in 10 minutes. How are things going for you this spring. We relented and started a small garden even with my wife's surgery. But I am still thinking about the best way to do raised bed plantings. Thanks for a good idea in this video.
