The road was very good. I did it on a fazer, no issues. It was the most beautiful road I have ever ridden. Love to come back to South Tyrol.

Galibier is a great choice without a doubt. The main argument for the Galibier are the glaciers in the south. I know many roads/cols from my racing bike tours and would like to add other roads as follows, just as a recommendation. 1. Bonette. 2. Agnel (from Casteledelfino; Italy) 3. Cayolle 4. Fauniera (all 3 sides) 5. Iseran (from Bonneval) 6. Gavia (from Ponte di Legno) 7. Nivolet (outstanding landscape). If you take into account the landscape, the traffic etc. the french cols and some cols in western Italy in my opinion are the most stunning.

CH got too expensive - I earn good money in BE but apparently not enough to spend more than a couple days in Switzerland which is a pity as I really enjoy the atmosphere , the scenery, the food and the diversity - alas....5 to 6 CH Franc for a coffee ....and 7 for a decent beer...I have to give it up

On the narrow parts of Gavia there are plenty of spots where two cars can pass eachother. How about that on Manghen ? Did Gavia last summer...planning to include Manghen in the 2024 summer drive...but with a car instead of a motorbike.

Would do it w/ my wife and I. I see Harleys are big bucks. I also understand, there's always an added charge... you never get a straight answer: total, total! Plus we drive slow to medium. Don't want to hold other riders up. there's flight, taxi... thinking this could cost over 12K.

I've now done four Edelweiss tours. Admittedly, they are on the expensive side, but that is justified by the whole experience, with new and well maintained bikes, skilled, caring and knowledgeable guides, backup truck, really interesting routes and destinations and a mixture of luxurious and, let's say, characterful hotels. I can especially recommend the Adventure Machu Picchu tour - for me, it was life changing. I'd love to do their New Zealand tour before I get measured for the old wooden suit. And my pal is doing Morocco with them next month - looking forward to the live blog for that trip, which you'll find on the main Edelweiss website. So many roads - so little time.

How difficult is Col de l'iseran pass compared to something like Albula pass, Oberlap pass, or Gotthard pass? More difficult and technical?

Now back from Chile. Our guide Domenico did a great job. Some tough and long days - make sure that you have lots of off-road experience under your belt before you book this tour. And maybe rent a wind tunnel with a dust generating machine to practise for the Pampas. Torres Del Paine was truly stunning, but without our Gulf Stream here in the UK, the same latitude south can be harsh, even in summer. Very glad to have seen Patagonia, but this is an experience, definitely not a holiday.

I am booked onto this tour Nov/Dec 2022 - really looking forward to seeing this magical place. I've done a few Edelweissbike tours and they truly deliver a top rate experience. Bike will be a Tiger 900 which can cope with all the surfaces we'll encounter - I just hope that I can too . . .

I am more eager than ever to take an Edelweiss tour. My two best riding friends are in agreement in principle but they don't want anything too "alpine" or too technical. As one said, "I'd like to be able to enjoy the scenery, not deal with one blind switchback after another." Recommendations for a scenic but more gentle tours are welcome! Thanks.
