My only question: How can the folding wing feature be retro-fit into an existing Pup ?

Hopefully someone else can answer for you. I was going to build a folding wing version from the start, but after they went out of business and health issues, I've had to put off building any.

37:50 Electrical Split Bolt ( garder bender co). Very Enjoyable. Here you are going to see the N3 inside out. It is an impressive wing, and as the designer says in another much later video, it;'s a super cub spar.. so it's plenty strong. I'd opt for zinc chromate anywhere steel and aluminum are in contact, and better paint on all the steel parts, before assembly. Only down side I see are rather cobby welds. But this was shot in 1991. A tough little airplane, and plenty of opportunity to make some more elegant holes that in evidence here. Now that titanium drill bits are cheap... there is no excuse for ragged holes from dull bits. Not shown.. the folding wing feature.

    Are there any other videos?

I have one other, but due to copyright infringement, it was taken down.

Is there a legal way you could share that with me? I'm re-building a Ultra Pup right now.

I love my Ultra Pup SN #3 actually built by B. J. Counts. It flys great and is so much more fun to fly than my 172. I think if more people had a chance to fly one more would be flying.

I started, but ran into the money being taken and nothing delivered. Spent a while fighting it, then health went down hill. Looking at a weedhopper now. Grew up flying a Piper Pacer. For some reason I like the tail draggers more than the trikes.

Hello, I understand they went out of business though I am able to buy a used or unfinished kit as well. Besides this I am looking at J3 kitten as well, which one would be the better plane? Also, I heard that it is very difficult to build N3 to 103 ultralight, maybe the two seater Ultra Pup is the better deal, but do the Ultra fly the same or better?

Collecting bits and pieces right now. I'll be moving to some land in 3 to 4 year. I'll start the build then. Until then, learning what I can and deciding how I want it.

ive always loved the Pup. I know that people and products often can have shortcomings. The Pup had a lot of promise in the early late 80s and early 90s. If they would have had a clear build manual and had delivered on time and what they took money for, I really believe this plane would have sold itself. When i was looking for this type of plane, my criteria was 'how safe is it, then the looks of it'. There shoud be 3x more of these planes flying than there are. I hope somehow, there comes a builders renaisance, and new people take an interest in the Pup and Ultra Pup-great little plane!

I agree. Due to misfortune and lousy companies, it's really shot it down.
