2024 New Jersey Pinelands Frog/Toad Breeding or Calling Phenology Video
WHAT 🐸 CALLS WHEN: Turn up the volume while checking out our new and improved “frog/toad breeding or calling phenology,” which includes photos/species IDs, audio of calls and charts the breeding or calling periods of 11 frog and one toad species in the New Jersey Pinelands, per the Pinelands Commission’s annual frog and toad surveys and several Commission studies.
Pinelands Commission scientists established 20 long-term monitoring stations to assess temporal changes in the status of anurans (frogs and toads). Annual anuran-vocalization surveys have been conducted at these 20 sites since 1996. The 20 ponds were selected as long-term monitoring stations because they are located on the western side of the Mullica River Watershed along the interface between forest land and developed and farmed landscapes. Since 1996, 11 frog species and one toad species have been heard calling from the 20 ponds. Eighteen ponds serve as breeding habitat for the state-threatened Pine Barrens treefrog.

A black background and some live plants would bring out the best in this beautiful fish's colors.
People in some states don't believe in this , I thinks it helps a lot.
What kind of fish are these? Are they native to the NJ pinelands?
Our tank includes banded and blackbanded sunfish. Both are native to the New Jersey Pinelands.

Must be fun and rewarding work. I just started herping in earnest this year. I've found 2 corn snakes here in SW VA so far this year.
there is no way that an auto insurance auction should be put in the pinelands there is others sites out side of the pinelands to do this if this goes through then why have a commission to protect the pinelands but this N.J with a lot of this $$$$ you can do anything in this state shameful

Thank you! I've been living in north Alabama for several years now and this tree frog was not listed in any of the frog identification videos. So I checked Louisiana videos and finally found it in a Florida video. But apparently this tree frog lives as far north as New Jersey. It was driving me crazy trying to identify this adorable little tree frog that is very common in north Alabama stock ponds near trees.

AfterAllWeAreHuman you think they sound like spring peepers? The little tan/translucent treefrogs that come out in numbers on the wet years, with an X on its backs? Idk if I'm getting breeds confused but I don't think the spring peepers sound anything like this in my opinion.
