This is the second in a series of videos I shot starring Aluna, the newest addition to the Baboon troop at the Oakland Zoo in Northern California. In this video, she is on the platform with her mother, and quite a few more Baboons throughout the video. Her attempts to jump while her mother holds her tail are pretty amusing. And she does like to jump. Until she wears out and needs a snack from mom.

    Hey Steve, thanks for the review! The bag is being worn slightly high in this video. The straps can easily be adjusted, just need to find your length 😉 We have some new tutorial videos for getting started now on our website: bevisgear.com/pages/tutorials - enjoy!!

  • @howardgrillphotography2280

    I was really looking forward to using mine but found a major problem. I have an R5 with an L plate on it. The bag is about a half-inch too short in height. When the camera with the plate on is in there it doesn't really close. I mean I can force it closed and the special latch will do its thing but it's only closed there. The actual whole flap isn't flat because the height is too small and you can look right in because it's only actually closed at the latch point. Seems silly they wouldn't think someone might want to put a camera with an L plate in there. I am very disappointed and find it unusable for my purposes

    • @stevengotz
      @stevengotz Před 2 lety

      Even with my smaller Olympus I have to turn the tripod foot to get it to fit. And extra inch in height would have been a smarter move.

      I'm a slight, short woman (51kg, 157cm) and it works really well for me. I have mine adjusted so it sits a bit lower on my body. I have used it with my 200-500mm lens but in general I am using my 70-200mm f/2.8 with it. I hike all day with it and it keeps my camera wonderfully secure, but close at hand. Does that put the camera body too close to your chin? I am considering this system, also do you find it to be warm in summer?

    • @stevengotz
      @stevengotz Před 3 lety

      I have not been bothered by the summer heat, but then again, I just moved to Northern Arizona and I will be out in a lot more heat than I was in Northern California. So I may find out that it is too warm, but I kind of doubt it. As for the camera body being under my chin, it hasn't bothered me at all. This is the only lens that I have that is this big. What I am having trouble with is looking at my chest with a mask on. I have to pull the mask down just a little to see how to put it back on the carrier. A little practice now and then helps, so that by the end of the day I can do it without looking.

    • @bobvila1010
      @bobvila1010 Před 3 lety

      Yes! It's a 4" arca swiss plate. This plate slides in a 4" Gimbal clamp. To balance the lens, we just have to move the 4" plate move in and out on the Gimbal plate. As any Gimbal Head Tripod, the L plate of the Telephoto is attached over the 4" plate Arca supplied with the Gimbal Head.
