I bought a house with garage door ran by Promatic 3. But the original RC was broken so I bought a new RC but nobody was able to tell me how to program it as its too old. This video worked 100%, sir! Thank you!

Perfect. Easy thank you ! . Easiest is just to do it using the garage motor unit. Never got it to work using old remote .

I'd be using an axe and small sledge hammer to hammer the axe head cutting through. A pair of tin snips or a spanner carries very little weight. If you wanted something reasonably quiet you could punch a hold through with a single blow and slot in a tool that will expand the joints using hydraulics that is hand powered. ie hand pump which increases the pressure causing the slats break open. Easier way is just to kick open the front or back door or a window down the side. Most people don't even reinforce the door jam so the only holding you back is 1 inch of thin wood. I've broken into a house a few times (legally) and the weakest point is probably the actual lock. Some you can break in a mere 1 - 2 seconds.

Pointless test. Only a dumb burglar would attempt with these tools. As previous commenter said: Cordless reciprocating saw, or angle grinder with cutting blade or firm nudge from a vehicle. Domestic roller doors are simply intended to hide any temptation and reduce "opportunity" crime. What unpractical public servant dreamed up this UK standard with this tool list ... adhesive tape, tweezers, plastic spoon ?... Must be an underpaid McDonalds or KFC employee.

Very helpful, thanks a lot. I accidentally cancelled the programming when trying to reset the door operator and this video and a bit of patience saved me a bunch of money calling out a door company.

Crow bar. No thief is going to risk his element of surprise making all that noise. Slide jack under the door and pry up.

When they are nice and tired of cutting through I'll be waiting for a nice surprise on the other side.

Absolutely brilliant. Worked first time, 45 seconds max. Did try the old / new remote programming technique a few times but that did not work. Bought new batteries etc etc.. This was simple.

Mine doesn't close the garage door completely- it leaves it open by just a crack. Is there any way to adjust the close position so it closes fully tight as there is a draught coming in through the door? Even if I perform another learning run it still doesn't close the door fully. It's an up and over type door.

Brilliant! East to follow step by step instructions for what is quite a complicated procedure. Pausing the video on each new instruction and writing it down also helps! The video is refreshingly short.

If I were to break into a garage door, I would use a vehicle to push it in, not my foot.

That door is only 4 feet high. The deflection would naturally be greater for a 7 or 8 foot high door.
