Here is a little bit about my channel:-
Channel, "The Curious Brain": An Indian living in the USA who learned pretty much everything himself!!! Thanks to the CZcams platform and people for helping me archive my confidence to be able to successfully perform my DIY projects. Life is Busy in America as we know, so we have to be self-independent. In my opinion, most of us struggle with things breaking down every day/week/month or so!! If you own a car and house, you know what I'm saying. I think is so unfair that innocent people have to spend hard-earned $$$ (After TAX), and priceless time, and deal with the crazy world out there to get things repaired. I believe this is my opportunity (as my busy schedule allows) to create good content where I should share back tips & tricks to help others achieve their confidence with their DIY projects!
My goal with this channel is to start with DIY-related videos in English to help people with their DIY projects and being an Indian, planning to make videos in Hindi to help people in India with Visa/GreenCard/Citizenship related issues while sharing my journey/experiences/hiccups including my USA experiences from an Indian point of view especially after living in USA for 12 years and maybe more as I move forward on this CZcamsr journey!
As far as my education, I hold 2 bachelor's and master's degrees in Cyber Security including over 10 years experience in IT Industry. I guess I can teach a lot of stuff via CZcams so why not start this Channel? Help me support this channel to keep me motivated including sharing your thoughts so I can invest more time to bring good valuable content to the table!
Again, thanks for all your support; rating the video and leaving a comment is always appreciated! :)

    THIS WORKED FOR ME TONIGHT!!! (8-12-24) Visio V555-G1, pin 56 on the left (front view, on right rear) ribbon connector. They are so small though that I couldn't make a piece of tape that small once I narrowed it down to that pin so I have actually have 54-56 taped off. I may go back in later and just cut the line in the ribbon. Too bad there's not a test box with lots of switches for each line. The factory proably has one. Thank you again for a great video.

    i just read your seven comments and sad, I had seen this method elsewhere before and gave it no mind, but with this tv I just got off the street I bought a new t-con board 8 bucks off AliExpress nope wrong one different variation of the model the ribbon slots weren't sized right so what the heck its apart I saw your video and a sliver of tape first attempt didn't work flipped the ribbon and it did, originally one side was white and one side was working so thank you, mine does not have that color thing or i don't see it cause i don't watch tv

    Can a new ribbon be purchased? Secondly, can i use the say technique for horizontal lines? Thirdly, can i tap both ends othe ribbon?

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před 10 dny

      Good Questions! The problem isn't in the ribbon, the true problem is in the actual panel/screen. No, this technique won't work with horizontal lines. You can tap the other side ribbon if you have lines on other side.

      @@Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX I disagree with you, I think it IS the T-Con board. I'm going to try this tape method in a few minutes and report back to this video. I've been trying to get a working T-Con (timing control board) from a few vendors in the past month and they are not to be had. One vendor had every part for my particular model, EXCEPT the T-Con board. I'm confident that this is the weak link of these V Series Visios TVs. I'll let you know my finding soon. Thank yoy for your video.

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před 2 dny

      @@Salty_Knuckles that's okay, you don't need to agree with it. Let me tell you this:- After making this video, I decided to move the tape around and start blocking more terminals to see if it maybe fix color issue...tried bunch of times without turning the power off and ended up blowing my t-con board. IC on t-con board heated once and then no pic on the screen at all no matter what I did after, so I knew at that time I got a bad t-con board. I had to make the decision of either throwing away this TV or purchase new t-con board. Ordered new t-con board, came in mail, installed without tape at first to confirm if my previous t-con board was bad and nope, same lines with brand new board, put the tape carefully and then lines were eliminated. It was painful to damage working t-con board and had to wait good 3 weeks for AliExpress to deliver me cheaper t-con board compared to expensive local board.

    Good Video... I have A LOT of Ryobi Tools and I have had to did a few motor replacements lately. One in a circular saw and the other in a reciprocal saw. Pretty easy... but I had to do a couple of small mods due to the replacement motors not being exact fits. Other than that it was pretty easy. Bought replacement motors for 7 to 10 bucks. I did need to get a small gear puller for future rebuilds as I didn't have one when I needed it of course, so I had to get creative. One thing I did want to mention is... it's a good idea to do a tear down/inspection of Ryobi Tools because SOMETIMES not always the factory doesn't properly grease the wear points. My reciprocal saw didn't have ANY grease on the drive shaft that pushes the blade. Just amazing... other than that... I've always had pretty good luck with Ryobi Tools and saved a lot of money in the long run... Thumbs Up on the video. It's interesting how Ryobi is now using security bits (which I have) but haven't had to use them on Ryobi Tools yet. That's important information for folks that repair their own gear...

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před 13 dny

      Very true about greasing tools...one thing I learned over the years... everything requires maintenance and they will last way longer if you maintain well. So yeah opening tools and cleaning them well and applying new grease will extend life so much in long run. I also install fan on my TV's on the back side to keep them cool as heat is #1 reason why most tv breaks. So I guess I will make one video on that too..I normally connect fan wires to USB Port on the TV itself so it only turn when you turn on TV and low on speed soo it not noisy enough to notice but enough RPM to keep tv main board cool. Thanks again for watching my videos...

    I tried doing it to my Vizio today but no luck. I think both the ribbons are bad. I still had the vertical rainbow lines no matter which ribbon I switched to either side. And then the tape thing also didn’t work I tried on both of them. Probably need more patience but I don’t have that much 😅😂

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před měsícem

      Lol, yeah it's more of a luck type repair because you never know exactly where the problem is...you can try blocking more terminals to see if that helps since there is no clear indication which one would help. Great fix. Going to open mine up and see if I have the same issue. Mine's only charging through DC power, not charging via AC and can't even use the AC outlets. • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před měsícem

      Definitely NOT a battery issue because like you said it's charging. So the battery portion is good. I'm pretty sure either some relay on main board or mosfet went bad. See if you hear click noise when you turn ac outlet on?

    • @ThrowAway77xt
      @ThrowAway77xt Před měsícem

      So if you hear click, it means relay is good. Now seems like overlord message is preventing it to work like it's stuck on that message. • @rondamon8004
    @rondamon8004 Před měsícem

    These batteries should come with a balancing button or something, because with the use they get out of balance...Oviously, companies are not going to do that...

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před měsícem

      That's what BMS (battery management system) is for but it's not smart enough to only charge cells that are unbalanced. It basically stops charging when it detects unbalancing which I guess makes sense because there is no programming or processor that can calculate all that in these BMS. Now you know why expensive cars like Tesla are way advanced as it shows you individual cell voltage and you will know exactly what cells are bad etc.

      Sounds like you are doing pretty well. Test total voltage of entire battery pack to make sure it's 70v + otherwise it's possible you might have missed some of the cell.

      It's a 60v, 8ah. Total voltage is 58.3. It should work. This is my first time, but can't imagine it not working. I'm about to charge it up directly with another 60v fully charged battery. That's how I started the project. Started with no charge bars showing. After repeated charges, had three bars. Even worked in the riding mower when it was the only battery installed. Makes no sense to me.

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před 2 měsíci

      Yes it doesn't make sense. Okay, so if it shows 58v, then technically it is close to full charge. Do a load test to see if it output fine...maybe use it for a little bit and then try to charge to see if the charger pickup. I don't remember on this battery model but normally BMS also has buttons to reset itself, maybe Google it on how to reset BMS, that might help. At this point, sounds like your battery is charged enough, BMS is being an issue now that's preventing to charge the battery.

    Hello! Thank you very much for creating this series. I was able to take apart my little puppy...and after hooking up a multimeter all of my voltages = 4.04v. Reading the main board voltage = 20.4? I was hoping for a bad set of cells - but in my case, I have constant voltage. I am unable to turn on the machine...turns on then off. Any ideas on how to bring this back to life? Thank you again!!!

      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you for the comment! Something doesn't line-up. They got 8S battery, so if you got 4v in each segment, then total voltage should be 32v or so not 20. Maybe check again, something doesn't seem right.

    • @sillymeeee
      @sillymeeee Před 2 měsíci

      Sorry... battery voltage at the BMS = 31.92... the of things is that 31.92 is on initial startup of the BMS... if you come back afew minutes later... it shows 20.09? bottom line . i can't charge it.. and it will not turn on

      Sounds like bad cells to me, when voltage with load drop and goes back up when there is no load. If you got bad cells, then charging individual cell won't help but you can confirm it by applying small load to each segment while using multi-meter to see if voltage stays same around 4v or drop or things doesn't work when you give small load. Just connect simply like small dc motor or light bulb or anything small dc power device on each segment to see if that works. I did the same in one of my hoverboard battery repair video, hope that helps!

    I think you’re wasting your time. I think the some of those batteries are for the memory and eventually you’re gonna be back in the same position again soon.

      Not sure what you mean by memory? Believe it or not, this video was posted 3-4 months ago and it's still working great for me and does full charge every time I use it. You could be right in other scenarios...

    Quick Update on this Video:- I ended up buying the entire battery pack from AliExpress for $20 Only with Free Shipping from China. It just wasn't worth doing all the work when the battery was that cheap. It took 2 months for me to receive the battery, installed it and my hoverboard has been working great since then! If you're interested in watching that battery and process, let me know and I can document the same for you :)

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, I ended up making 3 parts. Part 2 is all about putting back everything together and part 3 is actual repair. Part 2 is set to go live on 5/17 and part 3 on 5/20. I can tell you that you will have to charge individual segments after testing with multi-meter....most likely you will have segment 1-2 bad as that's what was weak in mine.

    How did you electrically disconnect each battery?

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před 3 měsíci

      I didn't and you don't need to disconnect each cell in order to charge individuall. Simply connect positive to positive and negative to negative, you will be able to charge normal. Just pick positive negative correctly while making sure they belong to that individual cell only..use multi-meter to assure positive negative are correct before charging.

      @jimf2525 Před 3 měsíci

      @@Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX I think I understand it now the resistance the other way around the circuit through the other 19 batteries would be so high as to limit current.

    • @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX
      @Xx_TheCuriousBrain_xX Před 3 měsíci

      Exactly, so charge them individually. I don't believe you need to charge all of them, just the one that's low...most of those should all match, just 1 or 2 that's below average volume that cause the damage in unless all cells are below 3v or so. Once every cell matches, then regular charger should pickup charging....also do subscribe if you haven't already, to help support...thnx!!!
