      In the way I’m doing the fx pedals I has to be thru because the in and out are in the same slots. But if you have a chain of fx you normally use, you can totally set it up in a normalled or half-normalled config with no issues.

    Since I ended up on your video, searching an Eurorack module to make some “808s” bassdrum/basses for Trap Music, to be sampled and then played on an MPC (I’m searching also, some modules for Snare, Cap, Hi Hats and Cowbells) so that I can CRAFT some tailor maded drums, for my beats. You will suggest me this one for the 808s or something else? (I had JoMoX Modbase back in my Eurorack days, but I made some techno with it…another idea could be, SSF UltraKick, Befaco Kickall, or I don’t know…plenty of Bassdrum modules out there…I’m going crazy trying to find the right module whitout having my hands on it)

    • @thesolutionband
      @thesolutionband Před měsícem

      Of the modules you listed, I only own the Befaco Kickall. If you’re looking for 808s then the Mandrake is the better of those two. I have all of Tiptop’s 808 modules. They are very good, but you don’t get much sound “sculpting” other than pitch and decay mostly.

    Hi very helpful video -quick question before I buy a I-connectivity device . I only have Synthstrom deluge and access virus and old Roland jv1010 module both virus and jv1010 are 16 part multi timbral I want to use deluge to sequence Access virus and jv1010 would it be possible to use the ivonnectivity to give me for example 8 parts virus and 8 parts Roland jv1010 on my deluges 16 midi channels rather than the current choice I have of either all 16 virus or all 16 being Roland jv1010 - hope this makes sense

    • @thesolutionband
      @thesolutionband Před 2 měsíci

      Yes that would be possible. One way to do it would be to filter out the channels you don’t want to use. So for example the Virus could use 1-8 and filter out 9-16. Then the JV could do the opposite. Then you could sequence on the Deluge accordingly.

  • @mrmikis
    @mrmikis Před 2 měsíci

    After watching all the comparison videos I could, it seems as if moog were able to match most of the modulation and filter effects but the drive is completely different. I would probably drive the signal with a completely different plugin to get close. Little radiator or the new ChromaGlow in logic would have a better drive sound. I’ll check back when I’ve tried it but obviously the original units drive circuit has interplay with the sound that would be lacking in this example. Keep the originals of course. They will go up in price unless moog do an amazing reissue. 😊

    Hi mate. With the MioXL can I have multiple sequencers controlling my synths? Currently have DAW, Hapax, SL, even an Atari ST. Depending on mood I want to use a different sequencer. Would the MioXL allow for this?

    • @thesolutionband
      @thesolutionband Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah it can do that for sure. You could route them all to the synths at the same time which would be fine as long as they aren’t sending clock or something at the same time. The other option would be to have different presets on the MioXL for each sequencer.

    • @MLochMusic
      @MLochMusic Před 2 měsíci

      @MLochMusic Před 2 měsíci

      Hi again. Would I be able to have multiple sequencers at the same time? Say Ableton AND the Hapax? I dont see why not but I cannot work out how the two separate networks would sync? EG Ableton controls sampler 1 Hapax controls keyboard 1-5 Great, but how would the Hapax get clock from Ableton if there separate?

    • @thesolutionband
      @thesolutionband Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah you could do that. You would just have to be careful not to cross up things that aren’t supposed to. You would need one master clock source. So you could connect an output from Ableton to Hapax and have Ableton be the master for example. This could be done easily if you connected the Hapax via usb to the computer or Mio.

    Very impressive setup you have there. I just got a patch bay yesterday just for my guitar pedals in a home studio. Most of my pedals are stereo except for one (Chase Bliss Pre Amp MK2) others are stereo but one has a TRS input and a right and left out, another has left and right in and out. Then I have a couple Chase Bliss pedals (Mood MK2, Habit) that just have TRS in and out. I was hoping to get some advice on what type of cables to run from the pedals and into the patch bay. For instance the Hologram Microcosm has a TRS in and left and right out. Should I break the TRS input with an insert cable so I have a left and right going in? Also the Pre Amp MK2, should I just use a TRS cable in and out or do I use a TS cable. Thanks in advance and thank you for the tour of your studio.

    • @thesolutionband
      @thesolutionband Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. I have that problem too. The L/R on a TRS cable are tempting to put in the patchbay as is. And you can do that with a trs patchbay. I tend to break things out into separate L/R in the patchbay for consistency sake. So for instance, if I were to put a Chase Bliss stereo pedal in the patchbay I would probably use an insert cable to split it into left and right.

      The calibration is actually stored in the monitor. So in my case that’s my default setup, so I can just turn them on and go. If I want to run a different calibration I can select it on the back of the speaker or in the A Control software. So in other words, when I’m using my computer for audio, SoundID is not even open most of the time.

      @@thesolutionband thanks. I have been wishing for a cost efficient way to run my sound Id without the need to use it in standalone or plugin version. I’m ordering a pair now

    Wow nice thought out studio. Love the orange cases. I used to also use a XP50 to sequence everything. Used to love that way of working in the 90’s.

    Comparisons seem a bit pointless unless they're in some sort of context. I dont really care if they sound the same as long as the end result is good. I found the VST 101 demo quite unpleasant to listen to though. Sold my 101 recently and would like to replace it at some point, kinda regretting it now. Would be great if the software could generate similar feels but doesn't seem like it can.

    It worth to run all the calibrations processes after the board was installed. Mine had issues with the pitch bender (sounded like the unit was out of tune) after I installed the expansion board. A fresh calibration resolved it.

      Good idea. I’m not sure if I’ve ever run the calibrations on mine before. 🤔
