Thank you! I can now officially take a break from Fashionista hunting and take care of my Bin of Doom / thrift cleanup dolls who are patient but I am feeling guilty keeping them waiting lol

I have only been collecting since about 1994 so you are way ahead of me! :) It sounds like you have an amazing collection, how cool that you have both Black Barbies!! Thank you for suggesting Target, you are right, they often have the newest dolls first - in fact, I found Fashionista #224 there! :)

Oh dear! Barbie shoes are so easy to lose :( I find that they bounce and end up in really strange places. To be honest, I haven't removed the clear bands holding her shoes on so maybe I won't for the time being, if they slip off that easily! Thank you for letting me know that and I hope you find the missing shoe :)

It definitely is. I had thought that if the shoes had B on the sole they were for the "original" type of Barbie feet, and if the shoes had the silhouette they were for the curvy and flat foot dolls. But now I am not sure

LOL I am old too! ;) I never had the original Quick Curl dolls though, unfortunately! I did thrift a Quick Curl Cara many years ago, and her hair could use a little work.

Oh that is good to know about Sindy's bending arms! Now I can research it, thanks! :) I was surprised at their condition, I am used to grubbier dolls at that thrift (charity) shop I have been frequenting (and must stop ASAP lol)

Rebodying is so fun and I find that I want to do it a lot, I am just limited with matching skin tones. That's cool that you found that curvy doll, she is pretty! Are you wondering what to do with the slim Ken bodies? Like ideas for which heads to put on them? Sorry if I misunderstood :)

I don't have that doll but I can put it on the Glitter Beach Teresa I thrifted so it's at least in the correct doll line LOL Oh wow, it's so cool that you found Ashley, I imagine she's a rare doll!! Kissing Barbie is definitely weird, Mattel did some weird gimmick dolls in the 70s for sure lol

OMG my metaphorical bin is full too, I have a haul I filmed and never posted, I need to stop acquiring dolls like it's my job (I wish lol) LOL Maxie was a cute doll, I think she was only produced for a few years in the 80s though. Barbie used to clobber her competitors pretty easily LOL I was "too old" for dolls at that period too, so I wasn't super aware of them and they are actually really cute dolls! I never expected to have a micro-collection of them but why not LOL

I have to be highly motivated to get out of the house by 8 am myself!! LOL It's funny, part of the reason I downsized some of my 90s dolls was the bent arms, I got tired of how limiting they are, but of course now I see them as super nostalgic and look for dolls with the bent arms when thrifting etc. LOL Cool that you got 2 vintage Skipper/friend dolls! Don't tell Skipper but I always thought Courtney was slightly cuter LOL

I was thinking the same, should I be quarantining my dolls too🤔

I'm just paranoid about bed bugs mainly, so I keep the dolls in a plastic bag inside my shed for a few days - it gets hot enough in the shed that I feel like it will kill anything I don't want to bring in to the house accidentally. Although now that we're getting into autumn/Fall and temperatures are going down this might not even work. And my husband "helpfully" pointed out that since I have already handled the dolls inside the thrift shop or whatever, that I am potentially contaminated anyway LOL So honestly it might all be for nothing but it makes me feel better! LOL I have way too many dolls too but I can't seem to stop getting more!! LOL LOL LOL

I wasn't sure if CZcams would alert you that I replied to the original comment - to be honest I think it's highly unlikely that dolls would harbor bed bugs but I like to think I may have prevented them just in case. :)

It doesn't hurt to be careful. Bed bugs are horrible and very hard to get rid of once they establish themselves somewhere. 😢 I know people that have had them and they are expensive to get rid of, they had to throw away furniture etc.

It was a real surprise, and now I am wondering what I might have missed in the past since I hadn't seen the bins under the tables! I was super shocked to see these dolls for sure. We've had some good thrifting luck lately! :)

Now I just have to find the right fashion pieces to make a cool outfit! LOL

I love the black ones, they do remind me of Docs! The pink sandals surprised me, although I realize now I never tried them on a high heel Barbie foot - even though they are "flat" they might fit that style of foot properly.

I just checked the back of her head, and it's marked 2011, so I think she is the Grace/Mbili face mold (one of my favorite face molds! :) ) - it was used on Fashionistas 7, 21, 33, 42, 77, 102, 136, 161, 180, and 185 in addition to this doll. which ones do you have? :)

Hello - Thank you for the assistance with this one. I have the original Fashionista with the slightly open lips. Before that there was the Princesses of the World South Africa, the Festivals of the World Kwanzaa, the Rocawear Grace, Marisa (my personal favourite). There could be another who may spring to mind. I got another bag of dolls LOL LOL Including that last vintage Barbie that was still there - spoiler alert, she is Wedding Fantasy Barbie from 1990. I felt bad for ignoring her this long lol But it was 99% the same dolls that have been there the entire time I have been digging through that box. However, I am now wondering if there are dolls in the box that is to the right of the big box of dolls, so when I go there again (most likely not until much later this year) I will check that one too, and if you go there you might want to at least take a look to see if I am on to something - unless you already did so! :D Savers had nothing (sigh). I hope the school year has started out well! :)
