    Stress is right, but it is the unknown and unaccounted stress that wreaks the havoc. This means chronic stress that results in chronic inflammation, which means no real rest, regeneration, restoration, repair; even from stresses you do know about, like training. Anyone gonna ask what the insidious sources of chronic stress are? Anyone care? You wont like the biggest source.

    Most people think they need to train back to get rid of back pain, but you need to train your lower abs to fix and prevent from back pain. Note - this is important: Abs exercises which does not feel good in the lower back area are not good for the back-health. If you squat heavy, deadlift heavy or use back pressure while armwrestling, you put ventral force on the disc between L4 and L5 of the spine. If this disc moves ventral just a few Millimeter it causes lower back pain. You can fix that and you can maintain the normal disc position if you do lower Abs exercises, which generate opposite (dorsal) force on the disc between L4 and L5 of the spine. Recommand these: Hang on a bar and then move both knees to the chest and then move back to hanging straight without swinging. Repeat that for as many reps and sets as possible. Also great: Moving both knees to the chest, while sitting on a higher, stable surface. The effect on the disc is the same.

    Dunno man...back pain can be a bitch but you make it sound like there's no reason (and therefore no cure) for it. Most people don't have to endure back pain for their whole lifes. Seek medical help. The first doc might not help you, maybe not even the second, but someone will find the root cause and the fix.

    Hamstrings. Your back almost always is the last thing to be stressed, the first thing to hurt. You can have tight hamstrings for years, and never hurt there.. it's the little muscles in the back that compensate and tighten down based on being pulled by other muscles. The source is usually away from the pain.

    I’m 29. Pretty bad degenerative issues in my lower back L4-L5, L5-S1 since a teenager. 1 back surgery a couple years ago. And now I remain with 2 bulged out disc in L4-L5 and it’s touching the S1 nerve. You are really correct on what you said. After breaking a piece of my disc in my back and having surgery, I’ve had multiple pity parties, and at times I’ve babied it so much I have made myself weaker. But as I close in on 30 July understanding has grown tremendously. I don’t do anything stupid to put me in a disadvantageous position, but I train again man like nothing exist. It’s taught me to bulletproof my core and keep moving and keep strengthening. Some days I walk like a duck until inflammation goes down and it won’t even be from training, and other days it feels glorious. I agree Reddit is a fear mongering platform. I don’t deadlift anymore but I replaced it with sled work. If you have a low back that could be classified as “weak” or “injured due to mileage”, the worse thing you could do is stop training. Because the more you strengthen the more that pain stays at bay. I promise.

    100s of variables from person to person, with ailments and what causes them. Fwiw, i worked construction from a teenager until 40 yrs old. Untold, countless heavy, odd shaped things i carried over uneven surfaces and never had back trouble. Got a sit down job and everything began to get fragile. Sitting is big bad cause for me, and the posture of the chair. Barbell training causes loss of mobility with me, and lack of mobility causes injuries. The best thing is for me is to stay on my feet, move around and do physical labor. No gym work, but rather all the random misc. movements of physical labor that maintains mobility and conditioning of all the accessory muscles and fascia.

    I was in a wreck in my early 20s my L 5 s1 disk is ruptured and bulging the pain goes down the left leg I hate it man it's a pain u can't just push through sometimes cause it feels like every step makes a visegrip get tighter it sucks but I'm finally able to train again

    P90x Yoga = cure to lower back pain. This was miraculous for me: I've had lower back pain forever, like you describe. Chiropractor helps a bit, pain killers help a bit--but then one thing ALWAYS works regardless of the pain, and don't ask me why. P90x yoga. I swear to you--it will erase whatever back pain you have better than any pill or doctor visit. I've shared this bit of info with others and so far for everyone that has tried it, it works. Don't ask me how--but if you're a doubter, it's a 1 hour video and you're done.

    As a physical therapist, I agree! Right on the money. The mind is strong. When you believe you are broken, you become broken. Believe you are strong, and you will live it into effect. The body has powerful self-recovery/adapting mechanisms even when discs are bulging, muscles strained, nerves pinched, etc. If you totally remove yourself from activity, you stifle these natural recovery mechanisms.

    Good that you found jefferson curls. This is my theory on physical rehab, I'm no expert, but this is what works for me. Increased bloodflow in the area + increasing range of mobility then strength in that range, also flexibility and massages are good. I assume you mean lower back pain. Sometimes adjacent muscles are weak so the back has to compensate, leaving it burned out, try some core/glute exercises. Posture check. Since jefferson curls helped, try zercher deadlift with spine flexion, BE REALLY CAREFUL, and go light and slow, only bar for a few weeks or months. I somewhat disagree on pushing through the pain, sounds idiotic imo, you have to be the decider on if the pain you're feeling in your body is beneficial or not. Being sore from a workout session means your body is damaged so it can grow, so ignoring it is ok. Having chronic back pain without knowing why should not be something ignored, imo. Tolerated and worked on, but not neglected. I type too much. Hope this could help. Forgot to add, the body is a complex machine where one problem could cause another or multiple different problems that are seemingly unrelated. Trying to work on everything is good.

    Going carnivore has massively helped my own back pain. Plus supplementing vitamin d3 and K2mk7. My other tip is sleeping on a memory foam mattress topper. As a 51 year old man I can write the book on back pain. I now ultra endurance cycle. I used to do heavy weights.

    A kings move done correctly is safe. The likelihood of a guy less than 3 years in using it correctly isnt high they dont know when to stand up because they are getting stops so they stay there even when pronation is gone then its asking for a bicep tear. Seen it happen at my practice. 1 bicep tear in 7 years of practice and it was a newer guy attempting kings move.

    Yea I have scoliosis and lived in pain daily. Had pretty bad nerve issues starting 2 years ago. Oddly enough, all of my pain disappeared 6 months ago starting the carnivore diet. All of it. Only tightness now. Nothing else from muscle relaxers to exercises, pain pills or anything else worked. Then I started this diet for other reasons and after the 17th day I’ve been pain free for the first time since a child.

    Stress is a big one for sure, various emotional challenges can actually relate to lower, middle and upper back specifically. I had 3 disc herniations since I was 15 with severe symtoms - I healed it to about 90-95% - Dealing with the emotional root was certainly a core to the healing, second to this was fasting. Both short and extended fasts. Its often not discussed but alot of lower back pain is actually kidney pain and digestive issues, so cleansing and detoxing there is important - let alone the real "clean up" that fasting can do in the spinal column. Third was Chiropractic - on a physical level this probably moved the dial the most aside from the fasting, noticeable changes that were supported by very clear analysis readings on their computer systems of before and after. Lastly, free flowing movements - like expressive functional movements, dance even, or forms of yoga that can explore irregular forms of movement that get into all of the crevasses in a gentle way. That's what helped me...
