@@scaredofrabbits There are many times I wish I could set and tweak BR-800 setting via a computer app because it can do so much. Still, for what it is, still a great recording device. Is the Tascam new to you or have you had it? I look at it and some of the Zoom alternatives often.

Hi, Thanks for your message! The guitar I'm playing is a Yamaha Apx 4A... it's about 20 years old now, maybe more and my violin is pretty old too, but I'm not sure on it's age... my husband found it for me and it was a wonderful surprise he got for me a few years back. I will look into doing a video on mics and set up, but for this video I literally just used the phone to record me playing and then headphones to hear it back while recording the other tracks! Nothing too technical. at all! All the best to you and thanks for watching 👍

@@scaredofrabbits Thank you! I have bought myself a Yamaha AC1M II TBS, about a year ago, it is a grand guitar, great for the Irish songs. I thought I recognised yours, wonderful to know that it has given you such good service. I've been thinking to myself how wonderful it is today that we, even an old geezer like me, can just warble into a phone and a thing of beauty is born. and then you send it out on the airwaves and the next thing you know you've been captured in Indonesia, Peru and NOva Scotia. I'm doing the same, feet facing the mighty Atlantic, phone pointed at my gullet, and then the warbling commences. I don't know if you've done it, but I was wondering if you had any intention to play Ar Éirinn ní Neosfainn Cé Hí, that has been rendered in such fantastic form by the great Mr Liam Clancy and his like

400 years, going from musician to musician, with illiterate people adding and subtracting verses. Many, many interpretations and verses. Song was probably passed down orally for centuries before most people could learn to read and write.

I'll be honest I'm not familiar with neo irish folk. My influences come from the local scene and influences with friends. I did have a glance at neo irish music and it looks very interesting but it is new to me. Thanks for listening and for the insight 👍
