Watched nascar as a kid from 06-15ish. Huge Jimmy fan. I don't watch nasacr anymore but surprised JJ is still racingoccasionally it seems?
So far 5 races in the last 2 seasons with no success. Maybe some more in the future though but I don’t think he’ll go back to full time racing
I don't think the Pocono crash had any effect on him. None of the Hendrick drivers won a race for the rest of the season, in fact Chevrolet didn't win a single chase race that year. Then in 2018 the Camaro replaced the SS. Chevrolet was WAY behind the competition until after JJ retired. Frankly, I don't think many people expected him to be good in Indycars, it just doesn't look like it fits his driving style. Legacy Motorclub doesn't have the resources, and will not be competitive with the top teams so his results are sort of expected there.
But he is getting better ngl. Kansas he was running too 20-25 all race and was getting better throughout the day. If he didn’t get dumped by the 7 he may of been able to get a top 15
I always said lets see how the 7 time playoff champ handels it when he had his first bad wreck and i called it after that crash at Pocono in 17 he never won a darn thing since he couldn't handle it completely lost his nerve washed up done after this race. I remember another guy having a crash here in the same place but worse flipping over and breaking his leg but he went own after his wreck went on to win 6 more championships and 63 more wins on top of 3 more bad crahes in the 90s he was still competitive until his death. Thats a true champion thats why i always said Jimmie Johnson can win 10 championships and 100 wins a Dale Earnhardt he will never be.

That Pocono hit definitely hit Jimmie hard. I think he realized at that point, he was getting up in years, has a beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters. He suddenly remembered what happened to Dale Sr., and I think he wanted to make sure he was around for his family. Let's face it....he already had made his name in the sport. Seven cups. Lots of wins. He really didn't have the mojo after than.
I’d almost agree with you if it weren’t for the fact that he raced another 3 more years in cup and then went to Indycar. Either way he definitely lost his edge

I had the same thought. Like none of them have a traditional highway air horn. They all have train horn.
Because they actually do have train horns that are custom install. If you pull up other videos of them during the daytime you can see them. They are mounted on the frame between the back of the fuel tank and the first axle usually on driver side pointing down.

Actually got to go into the Rick Ware Racing Hauler for the 51. They had an access window in the sleep area where we could see the backup car. But it was hard to get a good pic because of the reflection. That and the 51 probably won’t be the winning car 😅
