I am waiting for Ford to send me the adapter. I haven't looked lately, but the other adapters I've seen in the past were for the level 2 chargers, not fast chargers.

No, they were included when I bought my car in 2021. It is my understanding that the inside hood release button didn't work back then so the dividers were a safety feature. Many people removed them, but I like them.

True, but after 3 months there are still only 11 locations with the MagicDock and they are in New York and California. Hopefully we can get the adapters quicker than their MagicDock is rollout.

It has been a while since I had free charging and is difficult to know what's wrong without being there. However, it worked once, that is a good sign. I would double check that plug and charge is still turned on in the app (an update may have changed it) and double check your registered credit card didn't expire. If it still doesn't work, call Ford customer service 800-392-3673. Good luck

The 2023 Select model does come with the 360 camera hardware (unlike previous years). However, it is my understanding that Ford will only give you access to the 360 camera for 90 days unless you purchase the "Full Activation of Ford BlueCruise Feature" for $1900. If you purchase this, it should permanently unlock the 360 camera and give you 3 years of BlueCruise. I am not aware of an option to only unlock the 360 camera without BlueCruise. Ford might consider the $1900 as the cost to unlock the camera and giving a 3-year trial of BlueCruise for free (since all other 2023 models get a 3-year free trial of BlueCruise), but it doesn't hurt to ask.

BlueCruise is subscription based for all models. Ford has given most (if not all) vehicles a free trial (I received 1 free year for my 2021 Premium). Are you considering a new 2022 Select? You could ask for a free trial if it doesn't already come with one.

Yes I have one that is scheduled to be built in October. I was hoping it would come with unlimited Blue Cruise

@@edubs21 That would be nice. However, BlueCruise isn't much different than Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Lane Centering Assist except your hands don't have to be on the steering wheel for BlueCruise. You may find you don't need it.

If you bought the car in 2022, there isn't an income limit. If you buy it in 2023, I think they did add an income limit. I will read the changes and upload a video about it soon. I read conflicting information about what happens in 2022 after the new tax credit passed. But if the tax credit doesn't change for 2022 and you bought the car this year and owe $10,000 in tax liability for 2022, then you should be eligible for $7,500 in tax credit so your total liability for 2022 would be $2,500. True, more people seem eligible under the old tax credit, but Ford is expected to reach the 200k in EV/PHEV sales soon. Before the new tax credit passed, I expected next year to be Ford's phase out year. I am curious how Ford will handle the requirement of EV Battery materials. A month ago, they reached an agreement to acquire battery packs from a Chinese supplier, which I believe would make the car ineligible for the new tax credit (again, I need to read the new tax credit bill to fully understand if this is a problem for Ford).

Didn't know that on the chinese battery... I would think that's not a good move if people are trying to collect 7500? I sure hope not... I ordered a mock in March and I still have don't even have a build date and I believe it's going to be a 2023 now... I was wondering with all the shortages and since I ordered back then that maybe they won't hit their $200, 000 just yet because they haven't been building anything

@@Giantsblue23 They have been building, but haven't caught up to their orders yet. If you do not receive and pay for the car until 2023, then the new tax credit will be in affect. I am guessing some dealerships will possible find a way to make purchases hit in 2022, but if you pay for the car before you see it and check it out...that could be a problem. If you need the tax credit to hit your taxes for 2022, you could start looking around at available stock, which is usually slim and over priced (supply and demand). However, there are people who place orders and don't want to wait so they buy from the lot. They "cancel" their order, but the dealerships usually don't cancel it. When their order comes in, it is available to the public for purchase. Some dealerships do not excessively mark it up, but you would have to do your research.

Thanks so much... I have heard and seen all about the gouging and I just won't buy if that's the case. I have a local dealer that won't do that but I am not opposed to reaching out to find one that won't do that as well. If you know of any let me know. Thanks for all your help

I haven't heard yet. Hopefully, Ford.com will open order banks in the next few days and we can find out all the 2023 model changes.

Did they? I know they were suppose to, but the 2023 model isn't showing as an option on Ford.com. I have heard rumors that it was pushed to August 25th and rumors it will be pushed to September.

@@MachEandMe quickest analogy I could come up with. Maybe I should focus on the big news that they've increased the range from 230 to 240 MI. Whoopee. Anybody with a brain wouldn't pay MSRP or more for a car firstly, and anybody that knows anything about battery technology knows that there's big advances coming and the cars will get much cheaper and longer range. It's got the wrong name the wrong performance and is less than the sum of its competitors but cost more. I see no reason to buy it. But for some I guess it's too late. But don't piss on the public and tell them it's raining because for every positive review there are 10 negatives and if you work at a Ford dealership you know that it was not a good idea to buy this first year especially from the company like f

Yep...I know other EVs receive more. Since I do not travel that much, it hasn't effected me that much (and you can find free fast chargers occasionally).

@@Don_McQueen There are apps like ChargePoint or Plug Share you can use to find charging stations. You can usually request to see free charging stations only (under filters). Around me, new ChargePoint stations are usually free for a few months. There is one ChargePoint station near me that is always free. I usually get at least 55kW while using ChargePoint stations (up to 80% state of charge).

EVs are not for everyone, but I love mine. Where did you get the $5k price for a charging station? It cost me under $1k and that was after the huge price increase of electrical cable.

@@scbird1 No, I had an electrician install it. Am I understanding you correctly, your son has a P90 D aka a Tesla Model S? Those are twice as expensive as the Mach E and I cannot comment on what his Model S may need for charging, which made his bill $5k. Are you against all EVs or just the Mach E?

Wow...that is a long time to wait. Last year, I waited 4.5 months and I think it was worth the wait. Hopefully, you will agree when you receive it.

@@MachEandMe yeh I finally got my company to agree to get one and UK ford said not taking anymore orders til next year, there’s a massive recall too on many of the last models out.

When I first received my car, the FordPass app listed 2 companies that had plug and charge capabilities. Since none were in my area, I do not remember the other company . Now, the Ford website only mentions Electrify America, but I do hope as new charging stations are built that Ford will add more options. EA can be up to twice as expensive in states that they charge by the kWh (at lease for the Mach-E charging curve) and I think/hope the competition will keep prices reasonable.

@@MachEandMe Greenlots/Shell was the other one. You can still use the Ford Pass to charge on other chargers, just not plug/charge

Over a year ago, I saw some documentation that implied a BlueCruise 3-year subscription was included on some models if you paid extra to add the necessary BlueCruise hardware to your car. So, some people may have it included with their purchase, but that didn't last very long. I bought a Premium, so the hardware was already included, but not the subscription. Currently, the Ford website has a FAQ for "Was BlueCruise added when I purchased my vehicle?" (www.ford.com/support/how-tos/ford-technology/driver-assist-features/ford-bluecruise-frequently-asked-questions-faqs/), which states that you can purchase a car equipped with the hardware for BlueCruise and, when available, you can purchase the software. I am surprised they do not automatically offer a free trial, but maybe they will change that in the future.

Hey! Recently, my trips have be less than 4 hours each direction, which with the extended range battery I could make without stopping. However, I prefer to stop every 2.5 - 3 hours, to stretch my legs, bathroom break, get food, etc. (all are possible while the car is charging, and Electrify America has a lot of stations at Walmart and near restaurants). If we were traveling farther (and stopping less), I would make sure I charge before getting to 10% in case the planned station isn’t working (and I make sure there is a backup charging location nearby just in case, but most Electrify America stations have 4 chargers, so I haven’t had a problem). Check out the app “A Better Route Planner”…it is very helpful in planning long trips (video coming soon). When stopping every 2.5 to 3 hours, your charges are shorter. My last trip, I started at 100%, drove 165 miles, stopped to charge which took 21 minutes to go from 42% to 80%. Other trips last month I experienced: 19% to 62% in 25 minutes, 12% to 40% in 13 minutes (charger was expensive so I charged just enough to get to cheaper charger I was familiar with), 45% to 80% in 20 minutes, and 18% to 80% in 35 minutes). The charge speed drops at 80% so if I do not need more, I stop there. However, since Ford updated the charge curve, I can go from 80% to 94% in about 15 to 18 minutes. I never charge over 94% at a fast charger because the speed decreases significantly and it would probably take you an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour for that last 6% (which is more expensive than gas at that rate if you are being charged by the minute). FYI, I find Electrify America (when charged by the minute) is about half the cost of gas if charging to 80%, about the same cost as gas if charging from 80% to 94%, and over twice as expensive than gas if charging over 94%. If charged by the kWh, Electrify America is almost the same cost as gas right now (at least the price of gas in GA right now).
