Just before The Comedian Harmonists !!!!!!! the were excellents and greats !!!!!!
I bet these guys would never have even dreamed this video would be played 96 yrs. later!
Better music then the crap now.
Enjoyed your video, thanks very much.
That drummer is definitely the Tommy Lee of his day.
Great music, thanks.
Yep. Shredding ain't new
Say, who the dickens are these Revelers?
THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY~ A MAGIC TIME FOR THE ARTS.
the level of sophistication is unparallelled ~
Annette Hanshaws version smokes this…
No tuba.
1929? MCMXXXVIII is 1938.
typo on the film’s part, no band was playing like that by 1938.
AMAZING Quality! That 🤪we can view this at all is a minor miracle😐
The great Willie and Eugene Howard!
People saw this 98 years ago in theatres!
A cartoon, come to life.
Ultimate unctiousness.
Does anyone know who is who?
With Russ Colombo violin and vocals, Roy Fox and Ray Lopez on trumpet
If you haven't already, check out Colombo's "Too Beautiful For Words" which he wrote for Carole Lombard.
Thank You so much for posting this very sweet treasure! I LOVE this!
Thanks a lot from Amsterdam. Great!
The song that gave Fannye Rose Shore her professional name.
Thanks! It's Awesome to actually see this great Collegiate band from the 1920s! 🎶 And isn't the leader Fred Waring the same guy who invented the Waring Blender?
What a great novelty song this is! Warings Pennsylvanians made some of the best records you can find in the. Nineteen Twenties! They also made the first feature film (Syncopation) of the all talkie studio called Radio Pictures in 1929. That turned into RKO Radio Pictures (who made the first King Kong movie) Thanks for sharing this awesome sound film.
Dick Rich (Larry Richardson Jossenberger) is my Grand Uncle, my grandma (Merle Marie Jossenberger-Leslie’s) brother.❤

Wondering why Franklyn can't help but sort of conduct with his hand continuously...
I think Franklyn was just feeling the music! Looks like the most confident and comfortable out of the 5 on camera.
The audio here exceeds what we hear on his Brunswick records of the time.
There appears to be a bit of somewhat gay humor here. "You ready boys?" "Yaaaayz" "What kind of a band is this?" I know that Rich was married, but...not that there's anything wrong with that.
What can you say, except Vo-Vo-Vo-Dee-Yo-Doh!
Dissapointing by arnheim standards, pretty much the same all the way through, i cannot here a single note from the piano😢
The guy to the left of the drummer (our left) looks like he’s holding the forte-piano of the guitar family .. DAMN is this old ..
You go Hazel!
The bass player just kills it, soooo good and doubles on the Euphonium, a real treat to watch.
😚😁SWEET AND HOT!😉
0:04 this is the real beginning of the video
Roy Fox and Russ Columbo in the same video? Amazing! Didn't know they were connected and had to look back at Roy's biography to double check and make sure I wasn't seeing things.
Amen to that. They were hot!
Joe Foy played for the Red Sox in the 1967 World Series and later played for the Mets. I don’t think he was related.
Lyman was great - and he was nuts!
It just goes to show it's all been done before
I had a trumpet teacher in the 60’s who played & earned his way through that big band era! God bless you, Mr. Hines!
The vocalist is Dick’s wife.
NICE!
These Vitaphone gems provide a fun, fascinating excursion into the past. That is, at least for those among us today who have the good fortune to possess a capacity to appreciate them.😊❤
Love the Vitaphone early sound shorts!😊❤
What virtuosity!
Just here listening to some classics.
Fascinating!!
