Disconnecting MAF Sensor Is Not A valid Test
Hi very comprehensive video, would you mind answering a question ? I am trying to solve a turbo charger solenoid valve, control circuit signal outside upper limit (DTC 004517) on a Dacia Sandero Stepway 1,5DCI K9K 612 manual from 2013. I think I might have the same issue you described in your video . I tested signal voltage KOEO at 1.65Volts on the original MAP (Bosch 0281 002 997) . Figured voltage was to high so bought another MAP (Bosch 0281 002 996 superseeded part) I tested the new unit it still reads 1.65Volts key on engine off . Your suggestion is that in this state it should read nearer a volt any ideas where or how I can confirm this data , I am wondering if I have two faulty MAP sensors.
I want to buy, C4 grand space Tourer. 2018 petrol 1.2 pure tech. Does anyone knows how the engines are ? I have sone negative reviews.
To keep the ignition on, put it in any gear and press start until it says "remove card". When you finish making the diagnosis, press the start button twice to stop the "permanent ignition" mode
Maybe you can help with my problem. I would appreciate your assistance. I have a 09' VW Scirocco 1.4 tsi. Very similar to a golf and other VW models. My instrument cluster was not working. I unplugged the cluster and again plugged it in and miraculously it started working again. I had some warning lights on the dash, took it for a drive and all warning lights disappeared all but the airbag light. Plugged into the ECU and cleared all the codes, and the list was long. Everything was working fine for that day, parked it overnight and the next day the cluster was not working again. I have exhausted just about every attempt to troubleshoot, except I am thinking of getting under the car and looking for shorted damaged cable wires or perhaps a harness plug that is loose and not plugged in properly. That's my next guess. What do you think? Perhaps you can point me in the right direction, because this problem is driving me nuts.
Everytime you bare troubleshooting you need to do dynamic engine log not static and you start with the data you have from the test.
Hi...I have same engine...my temp gauge works now and then...if I bang dash it comes on....someone suggested bad soldering at the back....also just had engine rebuild and when it's on its showing above the three quarter mark on temp gauge...engineer said engine isn't overheating.....any idea much appreciated
1:46 sound of fat bloke getting in van.
You’re the man!!!
If you think it’s your sensor, just take it out, don’t touch the sensor and spray off with brake clean. Than change your filter. Fixes mine every time. Symptom - loss of power up hills.
@eliteautomotivediagnostics44 I know this is an old video now. But my Primastar is throwing up a P0100 maf code. Even if I try to delete it with the ignition on it stays as a permanent code. Freeze frame data is showing 589.3 kg/h with zero engine speed. Yet in PIDs it’s showing 40kg/h and increases no problem when applying throttle. Could this be a biased voltage?
My citroen c4 thp with EGS gearbox is showing this "Status of the starting authorization coming from the engine ECU PROHIBITED" and this "Starting authorisation coming from the gearbox ECU: NO" preventing the car from starting. Can you suggest to me what is the problem. Thanks
Ah damn, it’s not the electrics. Have you done one on Clio’s alternator ?
Thanks for this, it's given me the confidence to get the multi meter out and get under the Clio's bonnet.
Nice 👌....so only buy original parts
When i take out the MAF sensor my car remain start and coolant start running

Had that problem with my C4 Picasso, And a injection thing didnt work. 900 euros on repairs😱 700 euro labour 200 euro the problem
I have the same issue with my Peugeot 308 get the EML engine fault repair needed it then disappears and the service indicator light comes on drives absolutely fine the fault code I got from the garage says configuration fault took it to Peugeot and they spent half a day on it and didn’t have a clue
I've got exactly this. Replaced the battery but the fault is still coming up! How do you clear it? No codes.
I have that same problem. I replaced a new battery and installed software on the vehicle, but it continues. Did you find a solution?
Where are you based mate. Bournemouth
I had a new battery fitted 3 months ago and this is also my issue with the engine light please help!!!
i think you need to tell your car that ita new battery.
I have a c3 overheated, later type with plastic coolant flange, thermostat with a two wire plug and no lower blue sensor on the head. I have Replaced the head gasket, radiator (burst), thermostat (collapsed), flange with sensor (was cracked and leaking) and the fan speed resistor on the fan shroud (we had one in stock) There is no pressure in the system anymore and the car seems to drive fine, but i do not seem to be getting any fans running. Trying to run the fans from a launch diagnostic machine fails but If i bridge the wires at the fan speed controller the fan will run. Normal fuse and maxi fuses seem fine. There was initially a fan circuit warning fault and a fuel mixture fault stored but they have cleared and not returned. Any ideas
Damn you are a good teacher
Thank you! My friend has a parasitic battery drain that more a few mechanics refused to diagnose. I hope this knowledge will help me fix it for her. What software are you using?
can this problem blow out the main headlights? I drove this vehicle this weekend in the morning, sunny, daylight and all, and all went fine... but on our way back we stopped at a gas station exactly when day became night, and we started out from the petrol station back onto the highway and only then realized our headlights were both dead, fused out.
great video thank you for sharing
Really nice video and logic, thanks for sharing!!
If the internal resistance of the battery has increased, the voltage drop on cranking would increase. Also the battery would take longer to charge. The issue of "internal resistance" could also be caused by poor connections, leads. It all depends where you measure the voltage. I suspect the C4 is "fussy" about batteries. I have noticed C4 report this error on immediate starting (clutch depressed ... press start) but not when display is already on. This to me suggests the electronics have not stabilised before cranking takes place. Software Bug ?. Maybe thats why Citroens with computers have a reputation of being "moaning frenchmen".
Not reading cos the map / boost sensor on the intake pipe is blocked 😊
Hope my car is the same
My car doing the same eco comes and the code shows up when off the code disappears
Hi, the same thing happened to me while I was driving to my home. I would appreciate it if someone would let me know if it is safe to drive to the workshop 15 km away.
Have this issue on a renault kangoo. Virtually impossible to replace sensor without removing engine. ,
Brilliant. I've gotta get the codes read on mine. 2010 focus. Compressor/clutch worked when we jumped the relay for a moment. So I suspect it's one of the sensors. Sick of 80-90deg days with a black 130deg oven. The 3.5v suggestion is awesome.if it's any sensor other than the high pressure I'm just gonna bypass it with a resistive divider. I've got a retired ac dude as a friend he said don't screw with the high side switch but the other ones can be bypassed with out lethality/boom risk
Brilliant diagnostic by the mechanic. Really impressive.
Hi. Could you point me in the direction of where to buy the sensor? Same as yours in the video.
You can purchase this tool here: elite-diagnostic-solutions.com/collections/ditex/products/autosim-pro
Do I understand correctly that the voltage on the sensor should be 0.7 V with the key on and the engine off?
Hey Ryan, I'm looking at putting 2011 F10 seats in a street rod I'm building, is there an easy way to get these seats working ? I.E trick the CAN High/Low
What engine is this as it looks slightly different to my 2.3tdci
And I'm struggling to locate the sensor
@@farrahfazdid you find the sensor I'm also can't find mine, My van is 125bhp model.
@David Brennan turns out it's on the back of the manifold, but there's two types for the same engine, mine was the manifold without the sensor .... but if yours is you need to get right under the van and look at the back of the engine and its top right of the manifold...my fault turned out to be a split dpf pipe
Hi, please can you tell me where are you based? Thanks
United Kingdom
hi, can you please confirm the exact colour of the cables at rear passenger? also where in the uk are you located ? thanks
good job
Greyt
Thanks Ryan 🎉
Hi Lovely. My daughter has just been sold a 59 plate renault clio, and the lights keep coming on and draining her battery. Obviously that's why the guy sold it to her 😢 some people are so dishonest. I have just watched your video and wondered if you had any ideas on this fault please? I noticed you have all the diagrams for fuse and relay locations. Do you think it could be the relay please? And if so where would it be located? My daughter lives 290 miles away otherwise I would be going to see this man!! He's taken advantage of an innocent young girl. 😢 Thanks in advance Joany
Hello friend, sorry for the trouble, I drive a laguna 3 2.0 dci, mostly I have a problem with error df 004, the other one that says +12v, also then it goes into safe mode and also turns off the cruise control because they are connected, when I clear the error it continues it works without problems, it happens to me when the car is not fully warmed up or after a few days when I don't drive the car, I step on the gas and it does that to me, when I wipe it it continues to work without problems. Is it possible that the sensor you show on your clip has gone because I have already changed the turbine pressure sensor and the same thing is happening again. In normal driving, there are no problems, and also when the car warms up and you drive a little longer, you press the gas all the way in a certain speed to avoid overtaking, there is no problem.
I wonder how did you find the solution I am getting the same error code on my Megane 3 1.5 DCI k9k engine code vehicle
DF004 ? TURBOCHARGING PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT,Signal outside lower limit Megane 3 1.5 k9k
The problem is a voltage regulator. He is behind the organs up right behind the clock on the electronic boards.
I’m having a problem with my fuel level gage and Temp gage. Do you think this could be the voltage regulator? Is that part of the inst cluster?
@@jamessullivan1648 I have a T4 and i have the same problem. After a lot of search i fix it. It is a small transistor behind the clock at the organs. If you pout the organs out and open it you see it at the top right. ITT 9520 TCA 720 Those are written on the voltage regulator (transistor).
would this work if i connected to another car battery and draw power from that?
Great easy to follow video, im having an issue with my citroen C4 1.6 diesel hatchabck 65 plate, when i turn the key to the on poistion the display shows the "electical circuit failure:have the vehicle rapired" warning, and beeps 3 times the service light also appears on the dash. The car starts and drives fine. I tried to check battery volts yesterday but volt meter was playing up, so i just disconnected the positive terminal, left it for a min or two and reconnected, warning went away and i reset the service light by holding the mileage counter down method. Then i starated the car, everything looked good. Turned it off and started it another two times, all fine. I then locked the car and went in for tea, came out about two hours later put keys in turned them to the set position before starting engine, warning came back as did the service light. So im not sure whats causing this? Ive got an OBDR reader and looked but it showed no faults? Any ideas? cheers
I’m having the same problem. Had the battery changed and still problems. Did you manage to sort yours out?
