What can you put in it a small suitcase?
Hi, Richard. Thanks for watching. It's surprisingly big, and really easy to tie down. We put in small lawn chairs, coolers, beach blankets etc. You could get a couple small suitcases inside. We always make sure that whatever goes in is bulky, but light. I don't want to add too much weight onto the top of the vehicle. It definitely helps as our SUV was just running out of space on the inside.
@@scottoftheroad Thanks for the feedback..

Do we have to validate the tickets inside of the bus/tram?
No need to validate on the tram. The ticket is time stamped. Just have the ticket available if someone asks to see it. Check out this link for various ticket options - www.zvv.ch/zvv/en/travelcards-and-tickets/tickets.html Thanks for watching my video.
@@scottoftheroad what about the S-Bahn trains, do those not have to be validated either? Thank you so mush for answering btw :) !!!
@@lauraelenarivera2863 No need to validate on S Bahn either. Just have your ticket ready if asked for it on any train, and make sure the time stamp of when you bought it is current.
@@scottoftheroad thank you !! ⭐️
I have a love/hate relationship with DTW. Concourse A is a mile long, indeed, and the PeopleMover never seems to be effective for me--my gate is somehow always in the middle of the stations, meaning I end up walking more than the tram saved me. However, yes, it is a clean airport, and Delta does offer several lounges throughout their concourses.
Visited that a few years ago. Interesting place
Agreed. I've been going to Boise for years and finally made it to the penitentiary. It's well worth the visit. Thanks for watching!
I went there in the seventh grade on a field trip. It was typical weather for Idaho at the time, gray drizzling, depressing day. Going to the “Old Pen” made it worse. Haven’t been there since. Ghost Adventures filmed several years ago and they captured some interesting footage. I like the BSU-themed cell.
Yes, I know Idaho when it's overcast and drizzling (or snowing). Luckily, this day it was hot and sunny. I was impressed how nicely landscaped the prison yard was ... probably helps to have the Idaho Botanical Garden right next to it, which is another great place to visit when flowers are in bloom. Thanks for watching!

Wirtshaus im Ostend is one our favorite spots. Good choice !
The food was tasty and quite filling (as the portions in the video show). The staff was really friendly as well. It was a cozy place to eat on a chilly December evening. I'll certainly go back there again the next time I'm in Frankfurt. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Scott for the video but your please fix the white balance. Love you info
I appreciate the comment, Kamran. I should have changed from 60Hz to 50Hz when recording. I didn't realize how low the lighting was … it felt bright enough in the museum that afternoon. This was filmed at 30 FPS, but in Germany, lights "flicker" at 50 Hz. I still wanted to post the video since the museum is definitely worth visiting when you're in Trier. Thanks for watching, and for the feedback!
Rage against the machine was great there in the 90s
It's a great place to see bands play. I like how you can hear the music when hiking the trails around that part of town. The sound carries nicely. Thanks for watching!

Went there at the end of school field trip. It was neat. I will always remember the guide told about the woman that was in there she killed all 5 husband's
Yeah, that's something you likely wouldn't forget. I did a self-guided tour because of my schedule, but guided tours are usually the way to go. Although you do learn quite a bit just from reading all the signs throughout the buildings in the prison yard. Thanks for watching!

Amazing, his house looks so ordinary and plain it is hard to believe such a towering musical genius lived there. I once read that if you want to know Beethoven don't visit where he lived, where he wrote his music, don't look at his manuscripts but listen to his music, that's the real Bethoven!
Well said. You just can't tire of his symphonies. I remember a music class I took and the professor talked about Beethoven with similar thoughts as yours. He also had quite a bit of respect for Gustav Mahler in the same manner as he did Beethoven. I didn't really know Mahler then, but that lecture made me start listening to him as well. Thanks for watching.
@@scottoftheroad Thanks for sharing, Beethoven is amazing!

What was the cheese samurai like?
I liked it. Ketchup and Mustard were replaced with a somewhat spicy sauce that I believe was mayo based. Not sure if it is on the menu year round, but if I ever get back to Belgium and see it, I'll order again. Plus for €2.40, I couldn't afford not to buy it. Thanks for watching!

Do hotels in Zurich give out free public transportation passes for 3-4 days stay in Zurich.
I'm not aware of a free public transit card in Zurich through hotels. I did see that hotels in Bern offer something like this though in case you're heading there as well. I stayed at an airbnb in both cities, and when I asked the owner in Bern if a transit card came with the rental, he said it didn't.
I did this the opposite way around going from Cologne to Frankfurt. Cheaper than flying direct to from the NW of England
Thanks for watching. Makes sense. We flew direct to Frankfurt from North America, so it was nice to not have transfers. I wanted to buy a train ticket from FRA to Cologne in advance to save a few euros, but I chose not to just in case we had delays at the airport.
@@scottoftheroad Cologne Airport is quite small. I had to give myself a few hours either way to take into account delays but despite the DB train strike I got there on time!
@@barryrowlings83 The lady at my hotel did say that German train’s don’t always run on time, but I had great luck every time I used them. They were right on schedule. Nice to hear from NW England. I was planning on getting back around there in the fall (Chester), but looks like my work schedule has changed that. Hoping for next year!
Hey, quick question- did you ever bring cash with you when you travelled to Germany? And if so, did you ever used it? And when did you used it?
Thanks for watching. Yes, I always bring cash just in case. I used it at Christmas markets, but other than that it was basically all credit cards. I tend to bring more cash than needed to avoid fees from ATMs where I don’t bank, but again, I didn’t use much of it.
I kinda need this. I'm traveling to Frankfurt this month for a few days by myself for the first time, and I'm tryna wing it out before I head to Ulm for business work ( and I'm trying to figure out that as well on how to get there)
Definitely buy your tickets online though! 160€ for that distance is a rip-off, and you can get it from just 9€ if you buy in advance.
The great thing about Swiss public transport is it is a largely unified system so the buses, trams and trains all interact wonderfully and the timetable at least when we purchased the last paper copy was a country wide timetable of buses, trams and trains in four fat volumes.
Nice video ❤ Regards
Thanks for watching. And thanks for the comment. I’m enjoying your videos as well. I need to get to Warsaw soon.

"Cooking With Dog" theme music at the beginning!
Thanks for watching! Yes, that music is compliments of iMovie. I thought it was kind of catchy.
the thing i do not like about switzerland's public transport is that its so expensive. In athens the fare is only 1,2/0,5 euro (reduced)
swiss citizens earn more than greek ones ;)
You made here a little mistake. The short distance ticket to the train station was not necessary. You could by the ticket to the airport already at "Hottingerplatz" I would cost 6.80 CHF. I would be valid for all puplic transportation in zone 110 (Zürich City) and zone 121 (Airport and the wider surroundings)
Not a small mistake, a big mistake. If you want to explain something to others, you should inform yourself first. In my experience, the easiest way is always to use the public transport app for the city you are visiting, then you have the right connection and the right ticket in your pocket.

Hello , super wideo Reagards Janusz from Warsaw Poland
Good job 💪🚶
Not gonna lie: as somehow who has laid over in many hubs DTW is my all time favorite! Would do it again!
I agree with you. One of the cleanest airports I've ever been in, and there is always a place to sit and relax. Thanks for watching!
I think you might have actually bought a ticket at the initial tram stop that would have been good all the way to the airport and that should have turned out slightly cheaper than buying a separate tram ticket. All of the transport in the Zurich metro area is ticketed by the ZVV under a zone system and this tickets include transfers where needed.
WOW, super video 💪🚶 Regards from Poland
Thanks! I didn't realize how much I liked learning about chocolate until I went to this museum. It was a fun time seeing how everything is done.
Hi Scott, Like your videos. The raptor was a Red Kite. It's the forked tail that gives it away. You will see them flying around farm fields all over Switzerland.
Hi, Mike. I was hoping someone would confirm what bird this was. I sure was off with my golden eagle guess. Thanks for watching my videos, especially all the way to the end on this one so you could comment on the raptor.
Hello, I saw your CZcams channel and Very nice video on your channel. I really enjoyed it. I noticed one thing: according to your channel, your channel videos are not viewed and subscribed. You need to optimize your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will get viral views. Do you want to talk to me about this? I will fix your all problems in this channel.
great video, i wonder if this bag can scratch the roof?
Hey, Diego. I've had no problems with scratches. I guess there are no guarantees, but seems as though it would be hard to scratch as the bag is a heavy vinyl with no sharp edges. I'm always extra careful putting the bag on the car empty, not overfilling it with heavy items, and emptying everything before removing.
thanks a lot, i think im going for this on my jimny, cheers from the chilean patagonia!@@scottoftheroad
@@diegotrujillo6673 I'm glad you found this video useful. You'll like the Thule bag. Hoping to get down your way soon, although I guess a bit north of you. We're planning to drive from Santiago to Buenos Aires.
What cuckoo clock did you get?
I decided a simpler clock with the bird on top and wood carvings around the front fits better at home. I do believe there's a cuckoo clock for any budget, and that one fits well with mine. By the way, nice job showing all your clocks on your channel.
How about taking tram no. 10 from down town directly to the Airport? Easier takes a bit more time though.
The tram is an option, but I agree with you; it does take more time. For just a few more Swiss Francs we decided on the train. I'm overly cautious, and wanted to get to the airport as quickly as possible. Thanks for the comment!
Tram nr.10 is sloooow
Great video, thank you. Is there any problem to install it on a glass roof?
We wondered about that too, but decided that it would be fine as the installed luggage bars support some of the weight and we don't put anything heavy in the bag. We use it for lighter, bulkier items (beach towels, clothing, paper plates, etc.) and put the heavier items in the SUV. So far, we've had no problems. If you're still concerned, you could purchase a hard-shell rooftop carrier as I believe those ride fully on the rack and don't touch the car/moonroof at all. We wanted the bag as we have no pace to store a large plastic box when we're not using it.
This is so cute!! I bet it would be tough to leave here empty handed 😂
It was. I wasn't joking when I said in the video that I was reliving my childhood. Luckily, many of my purchases made fun take-home gifts for friends.
nice!
Thanks for watching, Craig. The Cleveland airport is easy to fly into, and within 30 minutes you're downtown via the train. If you're going to see a concert or football game, it works perfectly.
Nice place and planning to come back on winter season.
We really enjoyed Bern, and there are a couple of really easy day trips from this area of Switzerland. I would suggest Avenches for the Roman Ruins.
Great contribution. Valuable information is packed interestingly and entertainingly in a video of high-quality content and videographic quality. Thank you!
Thanks! It was so easy to get around Zürich by public transit, and to use it to get to the airport, that I figured I'd better share with everyone. I appreciate your comments!
Thanks for the video! I have been looking to get something like this. How's the wind noise on freeways?
Hey there. Wind noise wasn't a problem for us. We tuck the excess strap length under just to secure it better. Honestly, I don't think I've noticed any noise. It's been a great purchase. It provides just enough extra room for roadtrips, and it packs away nicely when you're not using it. Thanks for watching!
