Everyone is now a rock star
Strum a few chords on a guitar
Make up a lyric or two
It's what everyone wants to do.
Only problem is whilst there's a lot of "music" about
There's not much to make you shout
Harder to find anything original out there
Worth a play, a download or may be a share.
Hidden amongst the amateur's drone
True music gets lost in the social media zone
No dedication to perfect the skill
Just a quick fix enough to get the thrill.
Friends and family help promote mediocrity
A false impression of popularity
Technology allows all to take part
So harder to find the creator of true art.
No audience to hear something new
As everyone is a performer like you.
Thank God for the serious musician
Who's still out there if you listen.
If you look there is a musical star
High above shining bright from afar
Quality will always prevail
Keep searching for the musical Holy Grail.

Hi Greeny!!
i am a Caryle Gardens lad, born and bred. What a brilliant Film. The architecture in this film,is to be envied. Great film guys. Love it.
First ... he was my very very first customer when my wife Pauly and I launched our music library. He was my friend from then until his passing away and one o my regrets has been that I never got to share a space with this guy. Genuine, down to Earth and a delight to just chat with on the phone as we did on an almost weekly basis. Still miss him...
mate keep doing videos in rochdale mate ok

Best part of Liverpool. Lots of nutjobs, gentle people, and partying. I miss it.

I remember the 1960,s when my sister and i would go carol singing around Oxton village i was 10 years old and she was 8 years old .We lived in Clarendon Street .
It's many years since I was last down there.I knew a lad from Oldham in the 1970s and early 80s till he died in 1983.I spent a number of holidays thereabouts and on one occasion was taken into the old Town Hall not long before it closed and the council moved to the new Civic Centre.
I love the video and the music. Thanks for sharing.
nice version Ian
Brendan was great. His love of music was so wide. For example, he studied with Emilio Pujol ( the great Spanish master of the classical guitar) and Barney Kessell ( the great American jazz guitar player ). I saw him play lots of times, and had some lessons with him. A great chap.
Many thanks for your comment - I have done a re-edit of the video that lists a few of his achievements in the description - czcams.com/video/0kB0iRnLfWc/video.html
Just been told they are to disband the White Helmets. Seems daft to me! I did 12 years with the Royal Signals and we loved 'em
I lived in this town back in 1960's, was christened in St. Alkmunds church. Went to school on Claypit St. Stayed with my gran on George St. Their names were George and Hilda Farr. I'm now living in the states. I miss this town !!!!!
