Hype has replaced Art. If Banksy was visible and painted only on canvas, would his/her/their work be selling for millions? No. In other words there are people who are willing to pay millions for an artist who might not even exist. Banksy puts a message out in the public, and people listen. It's not vadalism, it's expressing a conflict through art. The way I look at it, while we have an army that tries to settle things with guns and just causes a complete uproar, we also have Banksy and other activists who get their message across with a can of paint. No one will understand an artist, unless they are an artist.
